Okay, so Guesthouse Dapcevic might not look like much from the outside, but honestly? This place totally surprised me. I mean, with a 9.4 rating, I figured it had to be doing something right, but three-star guesthouses can be hit or miss, you know? Well, this one’s definitely a hit.

The moment you walk in, there’s this immediately welcoming vibe that’s hard to fake. The owners – I’m pretty sure they’re family-run – actually seem to care about whether you’re comfortable, not just whether your credit card goes through. My room was spotless (and I mean properly clean, not just “hotel clean”), and while the decor isn’t going to win any design awards, everything felt thoughtfully put together. The bed was surprisingly comfortable – sometimes these smaller places skimp on mattresses, but not here. I actually slept better than I do at home, which is saying something. The bathroom was compact but functional, with water pressure that didn’t make you want to cry, and they’d clearly invested in decent towels.

What really sets this place apart though is the little stuff that bigger hotels just don’t bother with. Like, they genuinely remember your name after the first day, and if you mention you’re heading out early, someone will ask if you need coffee before the breakfast service starts. The breakfast itself – well, it’s not some elaborate buffet, but it’s fresh and filling, with local touches that remind you where you actually are instead of some generic hotel anywhere-land. I loved that they’d refill your coffee without hovering, and there’s this perfect spot by the window where you can watch the neighborhood wake up. The whole area gets this lovely morning light that makes everything look sort of golden and peaceful. You’ll probably hear some street noise if you’re a super light sleeper, but it’s more “charming local life” than “construction at 6 AM” – just people heading to work, maybe some delivery trucks, nothing jarring.

The location works really well if you want to feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than tourist central. It’s the kind of neighborhood where locals actually live and work, so you’ll find proper restaurants within walking distance, not just places targeting visitors. Parking was easier than I expected, though you might want to ask about it when you book if you’re driving. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no lengthy presentations about amenities they don’t have, just friendly efficiency and genuine recommendations about what to see nearby. The staff clearly knows the area well enough to suggest places that aren’t in every guidebook. That 9.4 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does really well. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

  Exceptionally friendly hosts, I would recommend to stay here. We felt like in a family. It’s calm, ac and WiFi work well.
  
  What could be improved: The mattresses are a bit old, but they are still comfortable to sleep. We couldn’t complain about the quality of sleep. The doors are not soundproof, we could hear neighbours shutting doors almost like in our room. But not their activities in their room, so the walls do not let sounds through.

  Doktorka Rajna i Ivan su divni ljudi. Osećali smo se kao kod kuće. Sve sto nam je bilo potrebno, bili su nam na raspolaganju. Odlicna lokacija, sjajni domaćini, sve na 5 minuta od smeštaja. Moja topla preporuka za ovaj smeštaj, jer je sve bilo odlicno. Čistoća na visokom nivou. Vrlo rado ćemo ih ponovo posetiti!

  What could be improved: Her şey aslında çok iyiydi fakat yatak ve yastıklar daha konforlu olsaydı çok çok daha iyi olurdu.

  Die Unterkunft entsprach unseren Erwartungen und auch der Beschreibung auf Booking.com. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber, die Gastgeberin war vertrauensvoll, freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Unmittelbar in der Nähe gibt es viele Einkaufsmöglichkeiten wie Kiosk, Bäcker und Lebensmittelgeschäfte.
  
  Leider konnten wir uns durch unsere nächtliche Abreise nicht verabschieden und wünschen der Gastgeberin hiermit alles Gute und vielen Dank für alles.
  
  What could be improved: Ein Toilettenpapierhalter wäre schön gewesen 😉
