It’s not trying to be something it’s not — just a well-maintained guesthouse that clearly cares about getting the details right.

You know what really struck me about this place? The location is absolutely spot-on, and I’m not just saying that because recent guests rated it 9.1. Rafailovići sits perfectly between the busier scenes of Budva and Bečići, so you get this sweet spot where you can walk to everything but still have some peace when you want it. The beach is literally a few minutes’ walk down the hill, and honestly, it’s one of those stretches where locals still go — always a good sign. Plus, there’s parking included, which anyone who’s driven along the Adriatic coast will tell you is worth its weight in gold.

The Room Experience

My room was clean and comfortable — nothing fancy, but everything worked perfectly and felt fresh. The air conditioning actually cooled the space (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case), and the bed was genuinely comfortable after long days exploring the coast. What I appreciated most was the attention to small details — good water pressure in the shower, blackout curtains that actually blocked light, and enough outlets for all your devices. The balcony views vary depending on which room you get, but even the partial sea views are lovely in the evening.

Breakfast happens in a small dining area that feels more like eating at someone’s home than a hotel restaurant. The spread is simple but fresh — local cheeses, fresh bread, seasonal fruit, and coffee that’s actually good. The family running the place is around most of the time, and they’re genuinely helpful with recommendations without being pushy. Look, Villa Gaga isn’t going to wow you with fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy lobbies, but that’s exactly why it works so well. Couples especially seem to get it — there’s something romantic about the intimate scale and the way you can just slip into the rhythm of coastal Montenegro life. The 8.8 guest rating makes perfect sense when you experience how everything just… works. You’re close enough to walk into Budva for dinner and nightlife, but you come home to something that feels more authentic and peaceful. For the price point, it’s honestly hard to find better value along this stretch of coast.

  What could be improved: Even marked as pet friendly, it’s not recomended to leave pet alone 1 or 2 h alone becouse other guests would complain on barking which is caused by constant slaming doors and noise from other rooms and pet became scared of constant sounds from other guests. We left room 3 days earlier to avoid unpleasent atmosphere and got small % od refund. As addition, below avarege furniture quality and amortized, bathroom and shower are to small.
