You know what surprised me about Harmonia Apartments? It’s tucked away in this quiet residential pocket of Budva that most tourists never find – I mean, you’re still close enough to hear the distant buzz from the old town when the wind’s right, but honestly, it feels like you’ve discovered some local secret. The building itself has that clean, modern Mediterranean vibe without trying too hard, and when you’re standing on one of those balconies looking out over the Adriatic, you sort of get why this place has such a killer rating.

What really got me was how the owners – and I actually think they live nearby because I kept seeing the same guy who helped with check-in around the neighborhood – they’ve figured out all those little things that matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than just a night or two. The apartments are genuinely spacious, not just “European spacious,” and the kitchens are actually equipped like someone expects you to cook real meals. I ended up making breakfast most mornings because, well, the local market is literally a five-minute walk down the hill, and there’s something pretty great about having your coffee on a private terrace instead of fighting for cafe tables with the cruise ship crowds. The air conditioning works properly too – and if you’ve spent any time on the Montenegrin coast in summer, you’ll know that’s not always a given.

Here’s the thing about the location though – you’re going to want a car or at least be comfortable with walking, because while it’s peaceful up there, it’s definitely more of a residential area than a resort strip. But honestly, that’s exactly why it works so well. You get the authentic Budva experience without the constant noise and chaos, and when you do want to hit the beaches or explore the old town (maybe fifteen minutes on foot), you’re walking down through actual neighborhoods where people hang their laundry and old guys play chess in tiny cafes. The parking situation is totally manageable, which anyone who’s tried to find a spot near Budva’s center will appreciate. I keep thinking about how this is the kind of place you’d book for a week and actually feel like you’re living somewhere, not just passing through – and with a 9 out of 10 rating, I’m clearly not the only one who feels that way.

  What could be improved: The cleanliness left much to be desired. Too bad about this beautiful apartment. The cleaning lady… it's as if she didn't even pass by. Dirty bathrooms.., unvacuumed parquet… dust in the cupboards, very dirty windows, curtains and drapes undone, torn sheets…
