You know what caught me off guard about Hibiscus Guest House? The name actually makes perfect sense once you walk through the front door – there are these gorgeous hibiscus plants everywhere, and I mean everywhere. The owner clearly has a thing for them, which honestly creates this unexpectedly tropical vibe that just works. It’s one of those places where you can tell someone actually cares about the details rather than just throwing together a generic guesthouse.

The thing is, this isn’t trying to be some fancy resort experience, and that’s exactly why it works so well. It’s got that comfortable, lived-in feeling where you’re not afraid to actually use the common areas or worry about making too much noise walking around. The rooms are solid – nothing flashy, but everything you need is there and it’s all clean and well-maintained. I stayed during what seemed like a pretty busy period and the staff still took time to chat about local spots worth checking out, which honestly made a huge difference. The Wi-Fi actually works (I know, basic requirement these days, but you’d be surprised how many places mess this up), and there’s this little courtyard area that’s perfect for morning coffee if you’re an early riser like me.

What really sold me on the place was how it strikes that sweet spot between being social if you want company and giving you space when you don’t. There’s a common area where people naturally end up chatting in the evenings, but it’s not one of those forced “hostel party” atmospheres – more like staying at a friend’s place where you might bump into their other guests. The location is pretty solid too, though you’ll want to ask about the best walking routes since some of the nearby streets can be a bit confusing if you’re new to the area. Parking was easy enough when I visited, and the check-in process was refreshingly straightforward – no unnecessary paperwork or complicated key situations. Look, it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury amenities, but sometimes you just want a place that does the basics really well and makes you feel welcome. That 8.9 rating isn’t an accident.

  The host was very friendly and helpful he told us everything we needed and welcomed us with very delicious coffe:) The apartment was very nice and comfortable, very well equipped for one week staying including a romantic balcony as well;) Thank you for everything, once we will come back for sure , we really enjoyed our staying there:)

  Good location, about 800m from the bus station and 1km from the beach. Many shops and restaurants around, also a good bakery is very close.
  The owners were kind and accomodating, and spoke english well.
  Good apartment, as shown in pictures, and the A/C works very well.

  What could be improved: The door of the room made quite a lot of noise as everytime someone in the same floor opened/closed their door ours would bang. It is obviously manageble but a bit annoying

  it was a pleasure to stay at the Hibiscus apartment. The host was extremely friendly and always ready to help. Location is also good – a lot of stores, restaurants and bus stop. Everything was working and working well:) Kitchen has all the utensils, but was a bit small.

  Fantastic hosts and great location. Our hosts helped us with everything we needed providing information and extra help. We appreciated the special treat received (home-made cookies, towel and sheet change). It is hard to find proper internet connection in this area but Hibiscus Guest House provided 3 different networks which solved my connectivity issues. Besides they offer free sunbrellas and a free bike.
