Hotel Description
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Hotel Aleksandar in Rafailovići – honestly, I’d never even heard of this little stretch of coast before. But sometimes those are the best discoveries, right? The hotel sits right in this charming fishing village that’s basically wedged between Budva and Bečići, and I mean literally a two-minute walk from some of the prettiest pebble beaches I’ve seen along the Montenegrin coast. The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense Balkan feel – it’s a proper 4-star place but without any of that flashy resort nonsense. What really got me was how the staff actually seemed to care about the details. Check-in was smooth (they spoke decent English, which isn’t always a given in smaller Montenegrin towns), and the guy at reception gave me this hand-drawn map showing the best local konoba for fresh fish – turns out he was spot on.
The rooms are honestly better than you’d expect for this part of the world. I had a sea-view room on the third floor, and while the décor isn’t going to win any design awards, everything felt clean and well-maintained. The AC worked perfectly – crucial during those sticky July nights – and the bathroom had proper water pressure, which anyone who’s traveled through the Balkans will appreciate. Here’s the thing though: Rafailovići gets busy during peak season (July and August), and you can definitely hear families with kids in the hallways, but it quiets down beautifully in the evenings. I actually loved falling asleep to the sound of waves hitting the shore just below. The village itself is still pretty authentic – you’ve got local fishermen bringing their boats in every morning, a handful of family-run restaurants where the owners’ grandmothers are actually doing the cooking, and this relaxed vibe that the bigger resort towns have sort of lost.
What makes this place special, I think, is the location more than anything else. You’re close enough to Budva (maybe 10 minutes by car or local bus) for nightlife and shopping, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with cruise ship crowds and overpriced everything. The hotel runs a decent breakfast – nothing fancy, but proper local cheese, fresh bread, and strong coffee to get you going. Parking was easy too, which is honestly half the battle along this coast. The 8.4 rating makes perfect sense to me – it’s not luxury, but it’s solid, comfortable, and the kind of place where you actually feel like you’re experiencing Montenegro rather than just passing through. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between authentic and comfortable, and you don’t need a resort with three pools and a spa, this is honestly a really good choice.

The food was very good, both breakfast and dinners was very good, tasty and big portions. The view from the room was very nice and the staff made us feel very welcome and special.
What could be improved: The room finishes was not very good. Fittings on the wall and also the cupboards was in a bad state. I hope they can fix it as it was probably the only thing we have to say was not good.Aslı from Turkey – 18 October 2024 (7/10)

The staff were so friendly, especially Sladjana, Milena, and Niko were super helpful. The location of the hotel, sandy beach, clean sea, sea food and breakfast were also nice. The room was clean. The taxi called from hotel was cheaper. If we come again in the future, we will definitely stay here again.
What could be improved: Room could be a bit more spacious and drying wet stuff is a bit hard. A "do not disturb" sign for the room door is needed as the rooms were being checked daily and they come in right after knocking the door without response time.Klaud from Albania – 18 June 2024 (9/10)
Everything was very good, rooms, cleaning, breakfast
What could be improved: The one I didn't like is related to car parking. On the property's website it said that the car park was nearby and cost 8 euros for 24 hours. Instead, in the nearest car park, the cost was 1.5 euros/hour, in total, we paid 25 euros for just 16 hours of stay. I think this is not fair.Timmu from Estonia – 5 June 2024 (9/10)
The location and the view from the top floor apartment are excellent.
What could be improved: The room needs a bit of a technician's touch; some hooks are loose, etc.Roelof from Netherlands – 10 May 2024 (9/10)
Location to the sea. Surroundings and nice walk to budva
What could be improved: Missing sun coverage on the beach. Parking is challenge but hotel will give you support in finding a solutionJulia from United Kingdom – 26 April 2024 (9/10)
Lovely boutique type hotel . Fantastic value . Staff all lovely . On the seafront in bay next to Budva – MUCH better than staying in Budva which is very crowded . Room was very nice with balcony overlooking the sea . We had DBB . Evening dinner in the restaurant was 3 courses and delicious . Several cooked breakfast options . We parked next door in a garden for 5 euros a day . Highly recommended

1. Very close to the beach, shopes, restaurants and cash machine.
2. Afternoon staff fantastic in restaurant. Thank you for care
What could be improved: 1. Problem with parking space, only on the street.
2. 1 key for 4 adults. When you forget to take a key from the room after working hours, u will be sleeping on the hallway.
3. Phone to reception in the room not working.
4. Leaking roof in the restaurant
