Hotel Astoria
Hotel Astoria
You know what?
You know what? Hotel Astoria surprised me in the best possible way. I’ll be honest – I wasn’t expecting much from a four-star place, but this one actually gets it right. The moment you walk into the lobby, there’s this understated elegance that doesn’t try too hard. It’s not all marble and gold like some places that scream “look how fancy we are,” but rather this warm, lived-in sophistication that makes you want to settle in with a drink and people-watch.
The staff here – and I mean this – actually seem to enjoy their jobs. Check-in was smooth (no weird upselling tactics), and the front desk guy knew the neighborhood well enough to steer me away from the tourist trap restaurant down the street toward this incredible little place locals actually go to. The rooms hit that sweet spot of being genuinely comfortable without feeling sterile. The beds are properly firm, the shower has actual water pressure, and honestly, the blackout curtains work better than most five-star hotels I’ve stayed in. Small thing, but you know how it is when street lights keep you up all night. The AC runs quietly too – none of that rattling that makes you choose between being hot or being driven insane.
What really sold me on this place, though, is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re not stuck in some isolated hotel district where everything closes at 9 PM. There’s actual life around here – I could walk to three different coffee shops in the morning (the one with the blue awning makes the best cappuccino, by the way), and there’s this little market nearby where you can grab decent snacks without paying hotel prices. The area gets lively in the evenings but not obnoxiously loud – maybe some gentle buzz from the restaurant patios, but nothing that’ll keep you awake unless you’re an incredibly light sleeper. Parking can be a bit of a dance if you’re driving, but the hotel has a small lot, and street parking isn’t impossible if you’re willing to walk a couple blocks. That 8.6 rating makes total sense to me – it’s the kind of place that delivers on what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. I’d definitely stay here again, and I’m pretty picky about hotels after years of business travel disasters.
Best hotels in Budva range from charming boutique properties in the historic old town to elegant beachfront resorts with stunning views of the Adriatic Sea and surrounding mountains.

What Our Guests Say
Location and the view from my room
What could be improved: The limited breakfast option. Literally nothing for vegetarians at all. That’s really heartbreaking.
Excellent breakfast and perfect location
Everything was nice
The property is right infront of Main entrance to old town... The receptionist Ms Maria is exceptionally well in receiving the guests and assistance for any needs..
What could be improved: No lift
A great price for a central location, especially impressed by the included breakfast and dinner, which was even better value. Big room with big bed and very modern
Fantastic decor and location
What could be improved: All perfect
First of all, I would like to thank Ms. Alexandria at the reception; we are grateful for her warm smile and helpfulness. The hotel is situated in the most beautiful part of the city, right in the Old Town. We stayed in a sea-view room, which was spotless, and everything was perfect. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Budva.
What could be improved: No elevators.
