Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Hotel Bellemond? It’s not trying too hard to be something it isn’t. Right there on Bečići beach – and I mean literally on the beach, not that “beachfront” nonsense where you’re actually three blocks away – this place has this relaxed confidence that comes from knowing it’s got the location locked down. The moment you walk into the lobby, you can hear the waves through the windows, which honestly never gets old. I stayed here twice now, once in peak July madness and again in September when things calm down, and both times the staff remembered little things… like how I take my coffee (way too much sugar) and that I always ask for a room facing away from the main road.

The rooms are what I’d call “properly comfortable” – not Instagram-perfect, but everything works and feels thought out. The AC actually cools the room (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case along the Montenegrin coast), and the beds are firm enough that you don’t feel like you’re sinking into a marshmallow. What really sells it for me is stepping out onto those balconies in the morning. If you get a sea-view room – and honestly, splurge for it – you’re looking straight across to Sveti Stefan island, especially gorgeous when the early light hits those red roofs. The beach setup is pretty sweet too; they’ve got their own section with loungers, so you’re not fighting for space with the day-trippers who flood in from Budva around 11 AM.

Here’s the thing about Bečići that most people don’t realize until they’re here – it’s got this perfect middle-ground vibe. You’re close enough to Budva’s old town (maybe 15 minutes by foot along the coastal path, or grab one of those little trains that run constantly) when you want the nightlife and restaurant scene, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the cruise ship crowds and late-night party noise. The hotel’s restaurant does solid local seafood – their black risotto is actually legit, not the tourist version – and the breakfast spread hits all the right notes without being overwhelming. I mean, sure, the WiFi can be spotty on the higher floors when it’s windy, and the elevator moves like it’s thinking really hard about each floor, but these are minor quibbles. The 8.3 rating makes sense to me; it’s not perfect, but it nails the essentials and then some. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between authentic Montenegro and actual comfort, this is your place.

Reviews

  • Very Good – Baba from United Kingdom – July 31, 2025 (8/10)

Hotel Bellemond is well-situated if you have a car, with Budva Old Town and the picturesque Sveti Stefan just a short drive away. The location offers a peaceful retreat close to the main sights.

The hotel is still finding its footing — many parts are unfinished, and ongoing construction does limit the current experience. That said, the staff are warm and doing their best, and it's clear they’re working through a refining process, with areas like the checkout experience still needing polish.

If you decide to stay, keep an open mind. It’s a new property with growing pains, but there’s potential here. With time and care, it could become something special. For now, it’s a work in progress — but one worth giving a chance.
