You know what caught me off guard about Hotel Budva? Walking into the lobby, I honestly wasn’t expecting the level of sophistication they’ve managed to pull off here. I mean, five stars can be thrown around pretty loosely these days, but this place actually earns it. The marble floors have this subtle veining that catches the light just right, and there’s this understated elegance throughout – not flashy or trying too hard, just genuinely refined.

What really impressed me though was how they’ve managed to balance that luxury feel with actually being livable. The staff doesn’t hover or make you feel like you’re being watched, which I appreciate. Check-in was smooth – they had my room ready even though I arrived earlier than expected, and the woman at the front desk actually knew the area well enough to give me proper directions to some of the quieter beaches away from the main tourist strips. The rooms themselves are spacious in a way that’s becoming rare these days. I had one facing what I think was southeast, so morning light but not that harsh afternoon glare that can make hotel rooms feel like ovens by 3 PM.

The location is honestly pretty ideal if you want to explore Budva properly. You’re close enough to walk to the old town without dealing with the chaos of being right in the thick of things – trust me, come July and August, you’ll want that breathing room. I could hear the distant hum of the nightlife, but it wasn’t intrusive at all. Actually slept better than I do at home, which says something. The restaurant situation is solid too, though I’d recommend venturing out for dinner at least a couple nights – there are some incredible family-run places within a ten-minute walk that you’d miss if you stayed put. One thing I particularly liked was how the housekeeping staff paid attention to the small stuff. Fresh towels that actually felt fresh, not just technically clean, and they restocked the coffee setup daily with decent quality beans. Look, I’ve stayed in enough hotels to know when a place is cutting corners, and Hotel Budva just isn’t doing that. With a 9 rating, I was expecting something special, and it delivered without feeling like it was trying too hard to impress. If you’re looking for a base to explore the Budva area without compromising on comfort, this is probably your best bet.
