You know what? Hotel Butua Residence caught me off guard in the best way possible. I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up, I wasn’t expecting much from a 4-star place, but there’s something about this spot that just works. The building has this understated elegance that feels more authentic than flashy, which I actually prefer these days. Check-in was refreshingly smooth – none of that awkward hovering around the lobby waiting for your room to be ready.

The rooms themselves are where this place really shines, and I mean that. Everything feels thoughtfully put together without being overly designed, if you know what I mean. The beds are legitimately comfortable (not just hotel-speak comfortable), and honestly, the soundproofing is better than I expected. I’m someone who usually travels with earplugs because city noise drives me crazy, but I didn’t need them here. The bathrooms are well-appointed – good water pressure, which feels like winning the lottery sometimes when you’re traveling. There’s this attention to detail throughout that suggests someone actually cares about the guest experience rather than just checking boxes on a corporate checklist.

What really sold me on the place, though, was the service. The staff has that rare quality of being genuinely helpful without being intrusive. They know the area well and gave me some solid recommendations that weren’t just the obvious tourist traps everyone suggests. I mean, sure, the 7.7 rating might not scream “luxury resort,” but honestly? It feels about right for what this place is trying to be. It’s the kind of hotel where everything works the way it should, the wifi doesn’t cut out during video calls, and you don’t have to ask three times for extra towels. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need – a place that delivers on the basics exceptionally well rather than promising the moon and falling short. The location puts you within easy reach of the main attractions without being right in the chaos, which I’ve learned to appreciate more as I get older. If you’re looking for somewhere reliable that won’t break the bank but still feels like a proper hotel experience, Butua Residence is definitely worth considering.

  Location was nice and quiet and a short walk to the beach, old town and harbour. Great shop just next door. Great to get clean towels.
  
  What could be improved: The kitchen looked so good but apart from the very basics, all the cupboards were empty. Even if you had wanted to cook a meal, you couldn’t as no utensils at all. Could have done with a toaster too!!

  Conditions in both rooms, large rooms a lot of space and a big balcony. Good new bed sheets. Perfect location: close to the old city, marina, all Budva's beaches, restorants, shops and despite of that it's quite.

  What could be improved: Some of facilities were broken or old. For example sofa was rubbed in some places, part of lamps should be changed, no towel hooks, no place for shower gel etc.
  But the main things works as it should be.

  Awesome location, only two minutes from the old town. The room was super clean and spacious. The hotel overall was quite good.
  
  What could be improved: The parking cost was 15 euros overnight which is crazy. Every hotel has parking included. The fridge didn't work and the reception couldn't even give us an iron because to iron your clothes costed extra money.
