You know what honestly surprised me about Hotel Diplomat by Aycon?
You know what honestly surprised me about Hotel Diplomat by Aycon? It’s one of those places that manages to feel both polished and genuinely comfortable at the same time. I mean, sure, it’s got that four-star polish you’d expect, but there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the whole experience that had me actually relaxing instead of worrying about whether I was fancy enough to be there.
The lobby hit me first – not in an overwhelming marble-and-chandeliers way, but more like walking into someone’s really well-appointed home if that someone happened to have excellent taste and a decent budget. The staff at check-in were actually helpful too, not just going through the motions. They knew their stuff about the area and didn’t make me feel like I was interrupting their day by existing. My room was on the sixth floor, and honestly, the attention to detail was pretty impressive. The bed was one of those where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re being swallowed, and the bathroom – well, let’s just say the water pressure was exactly what you hope for after a long day of walking around. There’s this nice balance of modern touches without trying too hard to be trendy, if you know what I mean.
What really sold me on the place though was how it handled the little things. The Wi-Fi actually worked everywhere (I tested it, don’t judge me), the air conditioning didn’t sound like a helicopter landing, and there wasn’t that weird hotel smell that some places never quite shake. The neighborhood around it has this nice energy – not too touristy, not too quiet. You can grab decent coffee within a block or two, and there’s real life happening on the streets instead of just other travelers looking lost with maps. I ended up chatting with the concierge about dinner spots, and they steered me toward this local place that definitely wasn’t on any tourist lists but should have been. That’s the kind of insider knowledge that makes a difference, you know? The whole experience just felt… I don’t know, authentic maybe? Like they cared more about making sure guests had a good stay than impressing them with fancy stuff they didn’t need. With a 9.5 rating, I guess I’m not the only one who felt that way. It’s the sort of place I’d actually book again without hesitation, which honestly doesn’t happen that often these days.

What Our Guests Say
The hotel was is immaculately clean, the rooms comfortable and the staff very welcoming and helpful. They made us feel really at ease and looked after us well throughout our stay.
Immaculate
What could be improved: Nothing
Great base to explore this area and very handy to have car parking available. Friendly and welcoming staff. Comfortable rooms and stunning rooftop facilities. Very good selection of restaurants close by.
What could be improved: Breakfast was good but coffee wasn't great. Other than that everything was wonderful.
Friendly and attentive staff. The hotel itself is new and very clean, with modern facilities that made our stay enjoyable. The on-site restaurant offered delicious meals and great service. Breakfast was another highlight—there were plenty of options to choose from. Overall, a fantastic stay, and I would highly recommend this hotel
The hotel is new, fully comfortable, extremely clean and cosy. The rooftop pool is small, but you have a lot of places to sit and enjoy the sun and the view of the mountains and sea.
I totally recommend choosing this hotel, even though it's a bit far from the old town, but close to the sea.
The staff was also super nice and helpful.
What could be improved: I would love to give 10/10, but the breakfast was below the average. It was not diversified, and not really of a great quality. Vegetarians do not have too many options, and vegans have almost none.
Everything, especially the staff
Excellent structure, all the staff magnificent and excellent.
Precise, friendly and always available, satisfactory on everything.
The check out date was early in the morning and they offered to prepare breakfast to take away, out of the ordinary. If you happen to be in Budva go there.
