Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Hotel Lusso Mare by Aycon, I wasn’t expecting much from the name alone. It sounds a bit corporate, you know? But man, was I wrong. This place actually gets it right in ways that matter, and after staying at way too many forgettable four-star spots, this one stuck with me.

The whole vibe here is what I’d call “polished but not stuffy” – like someone took a really nice boutique hotel and made sure it actually functions well for real travelers. The lobby has this warm, modern Italian feel (honestly, it reminded me of those gorgeous hotels you see in design magazines, except people actually use the furniture). What really impressed me was the attention to detail that you don’t notice until you’ve been there a day or two. The shower pressure is incredible, the AC actually works quietly, and – this might sound weird – but the lighting in the rooms is spot-on. You can actually read without squinting or looking washed out in the bathroom mirror.

The location is pretty solid too, though I wish I’d known beforehand that you’re walking distance to some really great local spots that aren’t in the typical tourist guides. There’s this little seafood place about a ten-minute walk away that locals actually go to, and the hotel staff (when you ask the right person) will point you toward the better beaches that aren’t completely packed. I mean, the obvious tourist spots are fine, but you know how it is – sometimes you want to feel like you discovered something. The 8.9 rating honestly makes sense when you’ve been there a few days. It’s not perfect – the WiFi got a bit spotty during busy evening hours, and breakfast could use more variety if you’re staying longer than a couple nights – but the things they do well, they do really well. The housekeeping team clearly takes pride in their work, and the front desk staff genuinely seemed to want to help rather than just go through the motions.

What really won me over was how the place feels during different parts of the day. Mornings are peaceful with good coffee and that kind of natural light that makes you want to linger. Evenings, there’s this relaxed energy – not party-loud, but alive in a good way. It’s the kind of hotel where you don’t mind hanging around the common areas, which says something. You’ll probably end up chatting with other travelers without it feeling forced or awkward.
