Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Hotel Perun? It’s tucked away on Cetinjska street in this quiet residential pocket of Budva where you can actually hear yourself think – which is honestly a miracle during summer when the Old Town turns into complete chaos just a few blocks away. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to Slovenska Plaža beach in maybe eight minutes, but you’re not dealing with the constant thrum of music and crowds that can make other Budva hotels feel like you’re sleeping inside a nightclub. The building itself has this solid, no-nonsense feel to it – not trying too hard to be boutique-y, but clearly someone cares about the details. When I walked into the lobby, it smelled like fresh coffee and had that particular kind of cleanliness that tells you the housekeeping staff actually takes pride in their work.
The rooms are honestly better than I expected for a four-star place in Montenegro. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels that claim higher ratings but feel like they’re coasting on their reputation – this isn’t one of them. The beds are properly firm (thank god, because I can’t deal with those squishy mattresses you get at beach resorts), and they’ve got these blackout curtains that actually work, which you’ll appreciate if you’re planning to stay out late exploring Budva’s nightlife scene. What really impressed me was the bathroom situation – decent water pressure, hot water that doesn’t run out after five minutes, and enough space that you’re not bumping into everything. The air conditioning works without sounding like a jet engine, which… well, if you’ve traveled in the Balkans during summer, you know that’s not always guaranteed. The staff here genuinely seems to know what they’re doing too – check-in was smooth, they spoke excellent English, and when I asked about parking (because driving in Budva can be a nightmare), they pointed me to a spot nearby that locals use instead of just shrugging.
Here’s the thing about Hotel Perun that really sets it apart – it feels like it’s run by people who understand that travelers want to experience Budva, not just survive it. You’re positioned perfectly to duck into the Old Town for dinner without having to fight through the main tourist drags to get home, and if you want to explore beyond Budva – maybe drive up to Lovćen or check out Sveti Stefan – you’re not trapped in the pedestrian-only maze near the fortress. The price point makes sense too, especially considering you’re getting that 9-out-of-10 rating from people who’ve actually stayed here. I’d definitely book this place again, and honestly, I’m kind of hoping it doesn’t get too popular because spots like this in Budva tend to either get overrun or start cutting corners once word gets out.
To book a hotel in Budva during peak Mediterranean season, travelers need early planning as this coastal gem draws visitors eager to experience its pristine beaches and historic old town.

A taste of luxury in a fabulous location. – Tracey from United Kingdom – August 3, 2025 (10/10)
This apartment was top class. A walk to everywhere we needed to go. The staff were very obliging and the apartment was so spacious and luxurious. The balcony is a huge bonus. We would definitely go back.
What could be improved: If I’m honest the breakfast did not match the standard of everything else in the hotel. One day the coffee machine didn’t work and there was no back up and the choice of foods was limited. However this hotel has only been open 6 weeks and I’m sure this is just a teething problem. It did not detract from our experience at all and everything else was a solid 10 !!Wonderful – Lana from Israel – July 31, 2025 (9/10)
The location is excellent, very close to the beach and the old city and the city center. . The staff is very kind, helpful and answers any questions. The breakfast is fresh every day and provides the needs

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful throughout my visit, always ready to assist with anything we needed. The location is great, close to everything, which made it easy to get around. Our room was big, very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. Overall, I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again.
