Hotel Slovenska Plaza
Hotel Slovenska Plaza
You know what?
You know what? Hotel Slovenska Plaza caught me off guard in the best way possible. I mean, when you first walk up to this place on Trg Slobode – which is basically Budva’s main square, for those who haven’t been – it’s got this substantial presence that makes you think “okay, this is actually happening.” The building itself has that Eastern European hotel grandeur without feeling stuffy, and honestly, being right on Freedom Square means you’re literally in the thick of everything without having to figure out Montenegro’s bus system (which, let’s be real, can be an adventure).
The thing about staying here is that you’re getting the full Budva experience whether you planned for it or not. Those rooms facing the square? Well, they come with a soundtrack – café chatter, street musicians, the occasional late-night revelry that Montenegro’s coast is famous for. I actually grew to love it because it felt authentic, like you’re part of the city’s rhythm rather than hiding from it in some sterile bubble. The rooms themselves are solid – nothing revolutionary, but the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms work properly, which honestly covers about 80% of what I need from a hotel. The AC was clutch during those sticky July evenings when the Adriatic breeze just isn’t cutting it.
What really sells this place, though, is the location intelligence. Walk five minutes in any direction and you’ll hit either the old town’s medieval walls, the main beach, or that strip of restaurants along the waterfront where locals actually eat (not just the tourist traps). The hotel staff seem to get this too – they’re not just checking you in, they’re giving you the kind of tips that save you from wandering around looking confused. Parking can be tricky in Budva’s center, but they’ve got it sorted, which is honestly worth its weight in euros if you’ve driven the coastal road from Kotor. The breakfast setup is pretty standard European hotel fare, but the coffee’s strong and the terrace gives you a front-row seat to watch the square wake up, which becomes oddly addictive after a day or two. Is it perfect? Nah – the Wi-Fi can be temperamental, and some of the fixtures feel like they’re from 2010, but there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the whole operation that works.
Apartments in Budva provide travelers with authentic local experiences, allowing them to explore traditional Montenegrin markets and cook with fresh Mediterranean ingredients.

Exceptional
Exceptional
Pleasant La struttura era accogliente e i servizi offerti adeguati.
They didn’t answer after 15 times calling them Terrible service
What could be improved: Stuff
Trevlig personal.
What could be improved: De nyrenoverade rummet kändes som ett fuskbygge.
