Hotel Tara Becici

You know what caught me off guard about Hotel Tara Becici? The moment I walked into the lobby, I actually felt like I was somewhere special – not just another cookie-cutter resort property. This 4-star spot sits right in Becici, which honestly is one of those places that locals will tell you about if you ask the right questions. The whole Budva Riviera gets crazy busy during summer, but Becici has this sweet spot thing going where you’re close enough to everything but not drowning in the tourist chaos.

The staff here – and I mean this – actually seem to care about what they’re doing. Check-in was smooth, no weird upselling pressure, and the front desk folks knew their stuff about getting around the area. My room had that clean, modern vibe without feeling sterile, you know? The bed was properly comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathroom had decent water pressure, which… well, if you’ve traveled around the Balkans, you know that’s not always a given. The balcony view depends on which room you get, but even the partial sea views are pretty nice when you’re having your morning coffee. One thing though – the walls aren’t super thick, so if you’re a light sleeper, pack some earplugs just in case you get neighbors who like to chat late.

What really sold me on this place was how easy it made everything else. The beach is literally a few minutes’ walk, and it’s that gorgeous Becici beach that stretches for almost two kilometers – way better than the crowded strips you’ll find closer to Budva’s old town. The hotel’s restaurant is actually decent (I was skeptical), and their local fish dishes are legit. Plus, when you want to venture out, you can catch a bus or taxi to Budva in maybe ten minutes, or if you’re feeling ambitious, it’s a nice walk along the coast. The 8.1 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place on the coast, but it nails the fundamentals and then some. I’d definitely come back, especially during shoulder season when the whole area is a bit more relaxed and you can really appreciate what Montenegro’s coast is all about.
