You know what really struck me about Hotel TQ Plaza? It’s one of those places that gets the fundamentals so right that you don’t realize how much thought went into everything until you’re already settled in. I mean, sure, it’s got that polished 4-star look, but there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the whole operation.

The lobby actually feels like a space people want to hang out in – not just rush through to get to the elevators. There’s this interesting mix of business travelers tapping away on laptops and tourists planning their next day over coffee, and somehow it all works without feeling chaotic. The staff here genuinely seem to know what they’re doing, which honestly isn’t always a given these days. Check-in was smooth (no awkward standing around while they figure out their computer system), and the front desk folks had that rare combination of being professional but not robotic.

What really won me over, though, were the rooms. They’ve clearly put some thought into the little things that actually matter when you’re living somewhere for a few days. The lighting is spot-on – you can actually read without squinting, and there’s enough outlets near the bed that you’re not doing gymnastics to charge your phone. The bathroom has proper water pressure and stays warm, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places mess this up. I stayed on the seventh floor and it was pleasantly quiet, even though you can tell this is a busy area during the day.

The whole place has this efficient-but-comfortable vibe that works whether you’re there for business or just exploring. Breakfast starts early enough for the early birds but runs late enough that you’re not rushed if you want to sleep in a bit. The dining area gets good morning light, and honestly, watching the city wake up from those windows while having your coffee is a pretty decent way to start the day. That 8.8 rating makes total sense to me – it’s the kind of place that delivers exactly what it promises without any nasty surprises, plus a few pleasant ones you weren’t expecting.

  What could be improved: Pool area opens at 10am, I would like to use it earlier, because after about 2pm there is already no sun light at the area.
  They provided a room cleaning with “do not disturb” sign. Not the worst thing, but especially during that day I didn’t want my stuff to be touched
