Katamare Hotel
You know what struck me first about Katamare Hotel?
You know what struck me first about Katamare Hotel? The lobby actually feels like a place you’d want to hang out, not just rush through to get to your room. There’s this warm, lived-in quality that’s hard to fake – maybe it’s the way the afternoon light hits those oversized windows, or how the staff genuinely seems to enjoy working there. I mean, when the front desk person remembers your name after one night, that says something.
The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully designed rather than flashy. Everything works the way it should (and honestly, that’s rarer than it should be these days). The beds are properly comfortable – not too soft, not like sleeping on a board – and the bathrooms have that satisfying water pressure you don’t realize you’re hoping for until you turn on the shower. What really got me was the attention to details that matter: blackout curtains that actually block light, plenty of outlets near the bed, and – this might sound small but it’s huge – a coffee setup that doesn’t taste like cardboard.
The 9.3 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve been there a day or two. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything they do, they do well. The housekeeping is spot-on, the common areas stay clean without feeling sterile, and there’s this quiet efficiency to how the whole place runs. I stayed during what seemed like a busy period and never felt like the service suffered for it. The location works in your favor too – you’re close enough to everything that matters without being stuck in the middle of tourist chaos. Parking was straightforward, which honestly surprised me given how central everything feels. If you’re the type who values sleep, you’ll appreciate that it stays quiet at night despite being in an active area. The whole experience just feels… solid, I guess. Like they’ve figured out what actually makes guests happy and focused on getting those things right instead of chasing trends.
Budva’s apartments offer spacious accommodations with sea views, perfect for families wanting to experience daily life in this picturesque Montenegrin coastal town.

What Our Guests Say
This is a beautiful hotel. The decor, finish, and furniture are all fantastic. We stayed in a deluxe sea view room for 5 nights and loved the balcony, comfortable bed and tasteful decor. The hotel’s location is not optimum. There is a huge amount of construction going on (on all sides). The breakfast was good, with lots of choice and a delicious eggs Benedict which we ordered on two mornings. The hotel is spotlessly clean and housekeeping do fantastic job. Parking is rather tight, but when we arrived a member of stay came out to help us and guide us to a secure spot. Many good places to eat within 5 minutes walk. Reception/check in stay were super friendly as were the breakfast staff, especially Nikolo (I think?) who was very helpful in getting a take away breakfast arranged for us as we had to leave very early on our last day.
What could be improved: We visited in off-season, so the area was very quiet and many places had not yet opened. The hotel’s rooftop bar had not opened although we could use the pool
On the 9th floor. Unfortunately, the toilet at the pool was blocked off by parasols. These could easily have been moved and it meant that we had to go to our room to use the toilet. The pools are both very small and I imagine would be very cramped in summer.
We found on many occasions that the bar staff were not very nice! We almost felt in their way asking (and paying) for a drink when we came back from dinner on two separate evenings. My husband was watching the football on a screen and the bar staff switched it off! We met two friends who were also staying in the hotel and they shared our feelings. We just felt as though we were in the way!
Spacious room with glorious sea view. Balcony with comfortable seating makes such a big difference. Sunbeds by the pool were also great and the spa is such a treat. It’s new so super clean, it’s large and well maintained.
What could be improved: There is a lot of construction going on around the property which didn’t bother us too much as our room was away from it, plus it was Easter weekend so it was quiet, but could be an issue for others.
The hotel is very clean, comfortable and quiet with great view to the sea and teriffic approch to the visitors by the employees.
Cost effective
The room, the pool
What could be improved: The breakfast was lackluster
We liked our stay at Katamare Hotel. Exceptional views, beautiful room... great location and free parking.
The stuff was always helpful and so welcoming! Looks like they thought about every little detail to make our stay as good as possible! Take a room with a sea view ! The balcony was spoiling and there was a very comfy sofa we could sit and enjoy the view.
The bed was super big and so comfortable, also the pillows. Breakfast was very good. We will definitely come back!!
Great selection, fresh food
What could be improved: Rooftop bar and pool was closed but visited in April so it is understandable.:)
Everything was amazing. Room was spotless. Great view
We stayed one week in the beautiful Premium Room with sea view and enjoyed every day to the fullest. We really recommend the room upgrade- the view is amazing and due to costruction work on the other hotels it seamed the best for us to have our room on the front side.
The breakfast is good and the staff was really friendly and even provided special food if you asked for it (f.ex. Soy/ almond milk or egg varieties).
We really enjoyed that it was very calm. Some Restaurants and bars weren‘t open yet (mid April), but there were not many tourists everywhere. Also in the hotel you could use the spa/ gym/ bar and didn’t have to wait- this might change at high season but the staff always gave their best to be fast and fulfill all wishes. The sea must be very nice in summer!
A special thanks goes to Miloš from the reception who planned all our day tours with our rental car for us and gave the best secret information/ tips. We had unforgettable excursions and can’t decide what was the best - Miloš was always happy to see us, shared Details about living in Montenegro with us and even recommended restaurants. The whole team seamed very happy, smiled and had fun with each other- That‘s rare and gives a nice atmosphere.
12/10 we would recommend this hotel for relaxing + day rides to explore the incredible Country and nature + old towns! Thank you, Hotel Katamare-Team!
