You know what? I almost walked right past the Korolev Apartment the first time I visited – it sits quietly above Seke market on Beogradska street, and honestly, that’s kind of perfect. While everyone’s scrambling for those flashy beachfront places that cost a fortune, this little gem gives you the real Budva experience without the tourist trap nonsense.

The location is actually brilliant once you figure out the neighborhood. Yeah, you’re not rolling out of bed onto the beach, but you’re in Lazi – which locals will tell you is where the authentic stuff happens. I mean, having Seke market literally downstairs means you can grab fresh produce, local cheese, and those amazing Montenegrin pastries for breakfast instead of paying hotel restaurant prices. The walk to the Old Town takes maybe fifteen minutes (I timed it), and you’ll pass actual neighborhood spots where people live and work, not just endless souvenir shops. Plus, parking around here doesn’t make you want to cry – try finding a spot near the main strip during summer and you’ll understand what I’m talking about.

What surprised me most was how quiet it gets at night. Sure, you’ll hear some street sounds during the day (it’s above a market, after all), but come evening, it’s genuinely peaceful. The apartment itself has that lived-in comfort that’s way better than sterile hotel rooms – Korolev clearly knows what travelers actually need. The kitchen setup means you can make proper coffee in the morning, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. I loved that the windows actually open wide (sounds basic, but you’d be shocked how many places seal you in with aggressive AC). The 8.5 rating makes total sense – it’s not trying to be some luxury resort, but everything works, it’s clean, and the price point is honest. During shoulder season especially, this place is a steal. My only heads up would be that the entrance is a bit tricky to spot initially, so screenshot the exact address and maybe call ahead for directions. But once you’re settled in? You’ll get why smart travelers book places like this instead of those cookie-cutter hotels everyone else fights over.
