Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around the Balkans, but La Maison Panoramique Budva actually surprised me – and honestly, that doesn’t happen much anymore. First thing you need to know is that it’s tucked up on Mainski put in the Lazi area, which means you’re getting those killer Adriatic views without the absolute chaos of Budva’s Old Town right below your window. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk down to Slovenska Plaža in about fifteen minutes, but far enough up the hill that you can actually sleep at night without hearing every drunk British tourist singing football chants at 3 AM.

The apartment itself (it’s on the fourth floor, so yeah, there are stairs) has this whole panoramic thing going on that isn’t just marketing BS – you really do get these sweeping views across the bay toward Sveti Stefan. What I loved was how they’ve done the place up without going overboard with that generic Mediterranean hotel look, you know? The balcony becomes your morning coffee spot pretty much immediately, and trust me, watching the fishing boats head out at dawn while the mountains catch that first light… well, it sort of makes you understand why people lose their minds over this coastline. The apartment feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel room, which can be hit or miss depending on your travel style, but they’ve nailed the balance between homey and actually clean and well-maintained.

Practically speaking – because let’s be honest, that’s what actually matters when you’re hauling luggage around – parking isn’t terrible if you’ve got a rental car, though the roads up here get pretty narrow and you’ll be doing some creative maneuvering. The hosts are locals who actually know what they’re talking about when you ask about restaurants (skip the tourist traps down by the marina, by the way). What really sold me was the little things: proper water pressure in the shower, decent WiFi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and a kitchen setup that’s actually functional if you want to grab some of that incredible produce from the morning market and cook something instead of eating out every meal. The place stays relatively cool even in July heat, which… if you’ve spent a summer on the Montenegrin coast, you know that’s not a given. Honestly, at a 9 rating, I was expecting to find something to nitpick, but the worst I can say is that the street can get a bit lively on weekend evenings – though honestly, that’s half the charm of staying somewhere that locals actually hang out too.
