Sure, it’s a 3-star place, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re trying to experience a place rather than just Instagram it.

The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable in that way that makes you think someone actually cares about the details. I’m talking about things like decent water pressure (thank god), windows that actually open for fresh air, and – this might sound weird – but the beds don’t have that hotel-y synthetic feel that makes you miss your own sheets. The owners clearly understand that travelers want a proper night’s sleep, not just a place to crash. What really got me was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re not completely isolated from everything. You’ll hear the occasional local heading home from dinner, maybe some distant conversation drifting up from the street, but it’s the kind of ambient sound that makes you feel connected to the place rather than annoyed by it.

Here’s the thing about staying in Lastva – and this is something you won’t get from the glossy hotel chains – you’re staying where people actually live. I’d walk out in the morning to grab coffee and end up chatting with neighbors who’d give me directions to hiking trails that aren’t on any tourist map. The whole area has this lived-in authenticity that makes you understand why this place has such a high rating (8.8 is no joke for independent accommodations). It’s not trying to be something it’s not, which honestly feels radical these days. Parking is straightforward, check-in was handled by someone who clearly knows the area inside and out, and there’s this general sense that you’re staying somewhere that prioritizes substance over flash. If you’re the type of traveler who values genuine local atmosphere over marble lobbies and turndown service, this is your spot. Just don’t expect them to hold your hand – they’ll point you in the right direction and trust you to figure out the rest, which I found surprisingly refreshing.

  We needed short stay rest before further traveling. The host were super kind and helpful. The suite was very clean with all the necessary furniture for a comfortable stay.
