Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Lucciola Boutique Rooms? The name actually makes sense when you see it – “lucciola” means firefly in Italian, and there’s something genuinely warm and inviting about this little place that glows against Budva’s busier hotel scene. It’s tucked away on Mainski street, which honestly took me a minute to find the first time (GPS gets a bit wonky in Budva’s older sections), but that turned out to be part of its charm. You’re literally a three-minute walk from the Old Town walls, but far enough from the main drag that you won’t hear drunk tourists stumbling back at 3 AM.
The rooms themselves feel more like staying at a design-conscious friend’s apartment than a typical hotel – I mean that in the best way possible. Everything’s clean and thoughtfully put together without being sterile or trying too hard to impress. The owners clearly sweated the details that actually matter to travelers: proper blackout curtains (crucial during Montenegrin summers when the sun’s up at 5 AM), decent water pressure in surprisingly spacious showers, and – this might sound minor but trust me – really good WiFi that works throughout the building. I’ve stayed at plenty of places in the Balkans where the internet craps out the moment you close your room door. The 9.1 rating honestly doesn’t surprise me; it’s one of those places where small things are done right consistently rather than flashy amenities that break after a week.
What I really appreciate is how it sits in the neighborhood – you’re surrounded by actual residential buildings where locals live, not just a wall-to-wall tourist bubble. There’s a little bakery two blocks down on Mediteranska that locals hit up for morning burek (way better than the touristy spots), and you can walk to Slovenska Beach in about eight minutes without fighting through the Old Town crowds. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle during peak season – there’s street parking nearby but it fills up fast in July and August, so I’d honestly recommend asking them about it when you book. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too; none of that awkward hovering while they upsell you tours or restaurant recommendations you didn’t ask for. They’ll point you toward good spots if you ask, but they’re not pushy about it. For a 3-star place, it punches way above its weight class in terms of comfort and location, especially if you want to experience Budva without feeling like you’re trapped in a resort bubble.

The host there was very kind and helpful. She was great!
What could be improved: Just that the shower flooded a bit. But it was manageable with towels.Last Minute Booking Saved My Trip to Budva After Disastrous Airbnb – Nikki from United States – August 5, 2025 (10/10)
The space was so nice and clean, easy 15 minute walk to the old town and little market right next door for things like water, snacks, drinks, etc. Front desk people were very kind and helpful, even stored our luggage after check out for as long as we needed. Felt very safe.
What could be improved: It would have been nice to have more towels and toilet paper in the room. However, it was provided as soon as we asked. I would have loved an iron in the room as well.Perfect – Aistė from Lithuania – August 4, 2025 (10/10)

What could be improved: The only thing was to small towel 😁One of the finest hotels – Levy from Israel – August 1, 2025 (10/10)
We loved the clean and quiet room with the mountains view, the staff were friendly and helped us for any need, alot of shops in the street bakery and resturants. New hotel with good small refrigerator and a good air condition. Super close by and pharmacy, also the central Bus station and the old city nearby.
What could be improved: For big towel and more paper you need to ask for the staff. They will give you happily.Super, comfortable, conveniently located hotel – Vipul from United Kingdom – July 28, 2025 (9/10)
Newly built hotel, which I was lucky enough to stay in soon after opening, and was very comfortable. Super location, with restaurants/cafes on the road, plus a big supermarket. Short walk to the beach and c20mins to the Old Town. The owner of the hotel was super friendly and helpful. I’d stay here again
