You know what surprised me most about Lux Apartment Budva? It’s tucked away on 13. Jula Street in this quiet residential block, but you’re literally a five-minute walk from all the Old Town chaos. I mean, when I first saw the address I thought “great, another place in the middle of nowhere” – but honestly, the location is perfect if you actually want to sleep at night.

The apartment itself feels way more upscale than the 3-star rating suggests. I’m talking proper kitchen with a full-size fridge (not one of those mini hotel fridges that barely fits a water bottle), decent Wi-Fi that actually works when you need to upload photos, and – this was huge for me – really good blackout curtains. The place has this modern, clean vibe without being sterile, you know? Plus there’s AC that doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing, which is honestly rare in Montenegro during summer. The bathroom’s got one of those rainfall showerheads, and the water pressure is solid. I stayed in July and never had issues with hot water, even after the beach when everyone’s showering at the same time.

What really sold me on this place though is how the owner clearly gets what travelers need. There’s actual counter space in the kitchen – I could spread out my stuff and make proper coffee in the morning instead of hunting for cafes. The balcony overlooks the neighborhood (not the sea, let’s be honest), but it’s peaceful and you get these glimpses of local life. Plus, parking is included, which saved me probably 15 euros a day compared to the tourist lots near the beach. Walking to Slovenska Beach takes maybe eight minutes, and if you want the busier scene at Mogren Beach, it’s still under fifteen minutes on foot. The Old Town walls – the part everyone posts on Instagram – are close enough that you’ll find yourself wandering over there for dinner without really planning it. That 9.1 rating makes sense when you add it all up. The apartment delivers on the basics really well, and those little extras (like having a washing machine that actually works, or wine glasses that aren’t plastic) make a difference when you’re staying more than just a night or two. It’s not fancy luxury, but it’s that sweet spot where everything just… works.

  The apartment is really nice and exactly like the pictures. There is enough room for seven people, though one should sleep in the living room. The apartment is fully equipped for a comfortable stay. The hosts are friendly and welcoming.
