Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Maestral Resort & Casino – I mean, resort casinos can go either way, you know? But this place actually surprised me in the best possible way. The moment you walk into the lobby, there’s this sophisticated vibe that doesn’t feel forced or over-the-top like some five-star places do. The staff at check-in knew their stuff without being stuffy about it, and I appreciated that they actually seemed to care about making sure I had what I needed rather than just going through the motions.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to balance the casino energy with genuine resort relaxation – that’s honestly harder to pull off than you’d think. During the day, you can completely avoid the gaming areas if that’s not your thing, but when evening rolls around, there’s this subtle buzz that makes the whole place feel alive without being chaotic. The rooms are spacious (and I mean actually spacious, not hotel-brochure spacious), and the beds are the kind you sink into after a long day of exploring. I loved that the windows actually open – seems like such a small thing, but fresh air beats recycled hotel air every time. The soundproofing is solid too; even with the casino downstairs, nights were properly quiet.

The dining situation is where Maestral really shines, though. I’m usually skeptical of hotel restaurants, but their main restaurant serves food that would hold its own anywhere in the city. The breakfast spread was impressive without being overwhelming – quality over quantity, which I appreciate. And you know what I found refreshing? The pool area never felt crowded, even during what seemed like peak times. There’s enough space to actually relax, plus the poolside service is attentive without being hovering. The whole property has this laid-back luxury feel – like they’re confident enough in what they offer that they don’t need to constantly remind you how fancy everything is. With a 9.3 rating, I get why people keep coming back here. It’s the kind of place where you can have a completely different experience depending on your mood – quiet and restorative or lively and social – and both feel perfectly natural.

  We stayed at the resort in April, slightly off season.
  It was a fantastic place to stay.
  The room was excellent with a large balcony with stunning view of the bay.
  The indoor pool and hot tubs were excellent.
  The resort has several restaurants inside, which were all great.
  Easy and convenient parking space…
  Highly recommended…
  
  What could be improved: The bed mattress was a bit soft for me…
  Shower is a bit small, but there is a bath tub…
  And the worst thing is that we had to eventually check out and go to the next destination 🙁

  Our stay at the hotel was fantastic. We loved the room, especially since we unexpectedly received a pleasant upgrade. The spa was great, and breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes and drinks. The staff kindly prepared a cake, fruits, and champagne as a birthday gift for my boyfriend, which was a lovely surprise!

  We had a great time and enjoyed this hotel very much! The hotel is a luxurious five-star, but it stands out, because they thought of every tiny detail to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The bed is perfect for a good night sleep. We had a great time in the spa area, suitable for every age group. The breakfast is delicious and rich. We also visited sveti Stefan, which is a 20-minute walk away from the hotel, through a beatiful forest. Amazing staff, very helpful and acommodating, bravo!
  We will definitely come back here. Thank you for everything!

  The renovations were amazing (loved the LED lights at night), views were also incredible. The staff was really friendly and helpful, breakfast was very tasty, so overall we had a very comfortable stay.
