You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first heard “rooftop apartment” in Budva – honestly, half the places that claim rooftop views here are just glorified attic spaces. But this Magi-Family spot actually delivers on the promise, and then some. The moment you step out onto that terrace, you get why someone gave this place a perfect 10 rating. The whole Adriatic spreads out in front of you, and on clear mornings (which, let’s be real, is most mornings in Montenegro), you can see all the way to the Albanian coast.

What really won me over though was how thoughtfully everything’s set up inside. I mean, you can tell a family actually lives in properties like this versus those sterile vacation rentals that feel like nobody’s ever made coffee there. The kitchen’s got proper pots and pans – not just the sad, scratched leftovers most places dump on you. And the bedrooms are positioned smart too, away from the main drag noise that can get pretty intense during summer nights when everyone’s stumbling back from the Old Town. Speaking of which, you’re close enough to walk everywhere that matters (the beach, Slovenska Plaza, all those little konoba restaurants tucked into side streets), but far enough up that you’re not hearing every conversation from the sidewalk cafés at 2 AM.

The rooftop setup is honestly the star here though. I spent way more time up there than I planned, just watching the fishing boats head out before sunrise and the cruise ships lumber into the bay later in the day. There’s something addictive about having that bird’s eye view of everything – the medieval walls of Stari Grad, the way the water changes color throughout the day, even the organized chaos of parking situations down below (and trust me, you’ll appreciate watching that drama from above rather than being part of it). The family clearly knows their stuff about hosting too; check-in was smooth, they actually answered their phone when I had questions, and little touches like decent WiFi and proper blackout curtains show they understand what travelers actually need. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself planning your next Budva trip before you’ve even finished your first one.
