Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Maresia Boutique Suites? It’s tucked away in Rafailovici, which honestly is the sweet spot between Budva’s party chaos and somewhere actually peaceful. I mean, you’re literally a ten-minute walk from Budva’s old town madness, but when you’re sitting on your suite’s terrace in the evening, you’d never know it.
The place has this sort of understated elegance that actually works – none of that over-the-top Mediterranean kitsch you see everywhere along the coast. The suites are properly spacious (and I’m talking about real space, not hotel marketing space), with these gorgeous marble bathrooms that feel genuinely luxurious. What I really appreciated was the attention to details that matter – like blackout curtains that actually block light, air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a helicopter, and balconies big enough to have your morning coffee without bumping elbows with your travel companion. The kitchenettes are well-equipped too, which is brilliant because eating out every meal in Montenegro gets expensive fast, and honestly, sometimes you just want to grab some of that incredible local cheese and tomatoes from the market.
Location-wise, they’ve nailed it. Rafailovici beach is right there – maybe a three-minute stroll – and it’s one of those pebble beaches that’s actually comfortable once you get used to it. The water’s that ridiculous turquoise you see in photos and think must be filtered, but it’s genuinely that clear. There’s a decent seaside promenade for evening walks, and you’ve got proper restaurants within stumbling distance (try Villa Dbar if you want incredible seafood without the Budva tourist markup). The staff seem to genuinely know the area too – they pointed me toward this little family-run konoba up the hill that I never would’ve found otherwise. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, no drama about city tax or surprise fees, and they sorted parking without making it feel like a massive favor.
Is it perfect? Well, the wifi can be patchy during peak summer when everyone’s streaming Netflix, and if you’re on the road-facing side, there’s some traffic noise during the day – but honestly, that’s Montenegro for you. The 8.4 rating feels about right; it’s a solid choice that delivers on what it promises without trying to be something it’s not. If you’re looking for that balance between boutique comfort and actually experiencing the Montenegrin coast without breaking the bank, Maresia hits the mark.

Reviews
It is good place to stay short time – Laura from Lithuania – July 3, 2025 (8/10)
Ir was bright and clean, the staff was helpfull
What could be improved: We was 4 people, so it was only 4 spoons, 4 fork, 4 plates 😀 everything strict to persons number 🙂Rafa not Budva – Nadia from Australia – June 29, 2025 (9/10)
The hotel we booked Maresia but were not informed it had changed its name to Royalis. Besides that the sea view front on room was fantastic. Lovely to wake up to & to watch the sun go down. Level 5.The apartment was equipped with the daily needs. Tea towels & dustpan missing. The room was not serviced. It was fine with me though. The other side view room, level 9 was good but had a lot of items in the apartment missing. Bins/hairdryer. Although I booked two rooms the same I only got one which was front on view. The beds comfortable, sheets nice & crisp & two pillows. Extra pillows were available. Breakfast was fabulous. Large variety to choose from & very fresh. Staff were very pleasant.
Parking was included & it was an added benefit which was appreciated. Beach towels provided.
The location was great. Directly across the footpath to the beach. Hot pebbles no sand. Buy reef shoes. Water clear & cold. Better & quieter than Budva. Lots of cafes, restaurants, shops, tour options & a lovely nightlife & stroll.
What could be improved: No direct lift access to car park from the lobby. Otherwise it was very good.Location is on the beach, but had to walk to get a sun lounge which is payable – Begovic from United Kingdom – September 30, 2024 (7/10)
Breakfast not included.
The view was fantastic, the lay out was good and plenty of space.
What could be improved: We had change apartment from 9th floor to 10th floor.
The first apartment was very poorly equipped. One wine glass. Mugs for tea were cracked. Only one saucepan. Crockery was all white but none of the plates matched. There is no reception! We had to phone for assistance,
The apartment was not cleaned, until I asked!
This could be a great facility if more attention was done by house keeping.Gorgeous apartment with amazing view! – Zeljana from Australia – September 23, 2024 (9/10)
Amazing location, the view is everything you could want and more! Apartment was lovely, clean and plenty of room. The balcony is perfect. The host Jadranka was so helpful. Would come back again.
What could be improved: Would be nice to have a few more necessities like salt, sugar and foil maybe but it wasn’t a big deal.
The building is unfinished so hard to get to the foyer where the lifts are from the car park with lots of luggage but again, not a big deal as the apartment is absolutely gorgeous!Wonderful – Ivana from Austria – September 6, 2024 (9/10)
Near to the beach, very clean and comfortable
What could be improved: almost nothingWonderful – Gassan from Israel – August 28, 2024 (9/10)
A very nice room and living room apartment, excellent location on the first line promenade to the sea, a stunning view, a large shower and two separate toilets, a large balcony with a table and four chairs, also inside the apartment there is a dining table and chairs, two sofas that open in the living room, a kitchen with minimal equipment. Covered private parking. We had a great time.
What could be improved: The bedroom has no door, the kitchen has minimal equipment, there are two elevators, one didn't work for two days, luckily the apartment is on the first floor. The whole basket is worth the money and I would go back there one more time.Overall our stay was great. – Lila from Australia – July 24, 2024 (8/10)
Location clean very luxurious
What could be improved: We had issues with power failure a few timesIt was a good experience. Highly recommended. – Anıl from Turkey – July 22, 2024 (8/10)
Location was good and very easy access to beach. Personel was feiendly. Room was specious and nicely decorated. It was clean and personelle were very quick to reply our requests. Good experience.
Good – Enea from Albania – June 28, 2024 (7/10)
What could be improved: The apartment was very nice overall, but the floors were dirty even though i had let known the host to bring the cleaning again they didn't come to clean the floors
Great view – Bianka from Hungary – October 29, 2023 (8/10)
The room was beautiful, spacious and the views were amazing! The host was also super helpful and kind and we had free parking lot. It was also a good value for money
What could be improved: The hotel was not fully finished, it is still under construction (especially the garage) and we found different names on the hotel as well as on the rooms on the floor we stayed which was confusing. There were also nobody on the reception desk. It was a bit strange.
