Martinović Rooms
You know what?
You know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t try too hard, and Martinović Rooms is exactly that kind of gem. Tucked away on Ulica II – which honestly sounds more intimidating than it is – this little spot sits just far enough from Budva’s main tourist chaos that you can actually sleep at night, but close enough that you’re not hiking 20 minutes to grab a coffee.
The thing about these family-run places in Montenegro is they either get it completely right or… well, they don’t. The Martinović family definitely gets it. The rooms are clean without being sterile, comfortable without being fancy – I mean, we’re talking 3-star here, so don’t expect marble bathrooms or anything, but everything works and it’s genuinely cozy. What struck me most was how quiet it gets after about 10 PM. You’re maybe a 7-minute walk from the Old Town walls, but somehow the street noise just doesn’t carry up here. Actually, that’s probably why they maintain that 9-star rating – people can sleep properly.
The owner (I think it was the son, maybe mid-30s?) spoke better English than I expected and had this casual way of giving recommendations that felt authentic. Not the usual “you must visit” tourist script, but more like “if you’re into that sort of thing, there’s this place…” He mentioned a bakery on Mediteranska that opens ridiculously early – 5:30 AM – which saved me during those jet lag mornings when I was wide awake before dawn. Little things like that make a difference. Parking can be a bit tricky (welcome to coastal Montenegro), but there’s usually something within a block or two if you’re not afraid to parallel park between locals who’ve clearly been doing this dance for decades. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no lengthy forms or upselling, just keys and a genuine “let me know if you need anything.” Honestly, after dealing with some of the more tourist-trap accommodations along the coast, this felt like a relief.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Budva through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best locations for experiencing the city’s beautiful coastline and rich history.

Twin Room

Very Good The room had air conditioner and you could reach everywhere on foot. The host was so helpful, friendly and kind. When we need help, he was always careful. He paid tourist taxes for us and sent a pdf.
What could be improved: The room was old fashioned and not had a durable door which makes me think about the safety. Lastly, I couldn’t connect Wi-fi network easily.
Host was really great with responding quickly to all messages and was really polite and friendly. They also allowed us t Host was really great with responding quickly to all messages and was really polite and friendly. They also allowed us to check in early which was fantastic!
Spacious room It’s close to the bus station and walking distance to the old town. The host is helpful and friendly. It had a little balcony.
What could be improved: The WiFi needs to be reset at times to access it. There’s just a little bin in the bathroom. Bathroom is quite small.
Very Good Wifi was good. Amennities and devices were useful. Generally it was good.
What could be improved: A kettle and 2-3 cups would be wonderful
Very Good Good value for money, clean room.
It was great, we enjoyed our stay We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was well equipped - we also had our own refrigerator (which was a saver) - and a big plus was that we location had its own parking.
Aside from the the facilities, the host was very kind and helpful
Fabulous location and value! Great location! Far enough from the crazy hustle and bustle but close enough to the beach and nightlife, as well as the big stores and the mall.
What could be improved: Nothing. I loved it here.
Exceptional Nice room and balcony. Location good.
Wonderful Great location close to bus station, town, and beach! Very helpful and kind host who helped us check in (despite arriving late at night) - would recommend to anyone staying in Budva!
Convenient stay with everything you need nearby Comfortable twin room with A/C and a lovely shared patio. Great location—about 25–30 minutes’ walk to the beaches and old town, and very close to restaurants, the bus station, and supermarkets. Perfect for a short 2-night stay.
What could be improved: Only downside was that the shower water pressure could be better.
