Hotel Description
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to the Meridian Hotel – you know how it is with four-star places, they can be hit or miss. But this one actually gets it right in ways that surprised me. The lobby hits you with this warm, lived-in elegance that doesn’t feel stuffy or trying too hard. There’s genuine leather seating that’s actually comfortable (not just for show), and the front desk staff seemed to recognize returning guests by name, which tells you something about the kind of place this is.
What really won me over was the attention to details that most hotels completely miss. The rooms have those thick curtains that actually block out light – I mean, proper blackout curtains, not the flimsy things you usually get. The shower pressure is honestly fantastic, and the water gets hot fast, which sounds basic but you’d be amazed how many places can’t manage this. The beds are firm without being rock-hard, and they’ve got enough pillows for different sleeping styles. I noticed the housekeeping staff takes their time too – towels folded properly, everything actually clean, not just made to look tidy from a distance.
The common areas have this authentic charm that develops over time, not the cookie-cutter vibe of chain hotels. There’s a small bar area that gets surprisingly lively in the evenings – nothing rowdy, just the kind of place where you might end up chatting with other travelers or locals who know this spot. The staff genuinely seems to care about whether you’re comfortable, and they’ll give you real recommendations, not just hand you a glossy brochure of tourist traps. Parking was straightforward when I visited, and check-in was quick even during what seemed like a busy period. The 9.2 rating makes complete sense once you stay here – it’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but it’s the kind of place that does the important things really well. You’ll sleep better here than at most hotels twice the price, and you’ll actually want to hang around the common areas instead of hiding in your room.
To book a hotel in Budva during peak Mediterranean season, travelers need early planning as this coastal gem draws visitors eager to experience its pristine beaches and historic old town.

Great location close to the beach and restaurants but yet still quiet. The hotel hosts were amazing, so helpful and friendly. Very welcoming and happy to assist or answer any questions. Thank you for a fantastic holiday.

This hotel is one of the more unique hotels I have ever stayed at. The hotel rises along the side of a mountain. You enter street-side from a small parking lot into an elevator that overlooks the bay, and go down into the hotel. Our room was on the 2nd floor and had a nice balcony with a beautiful view of the water and swimming pool, especially at sunset. The hotel is located in a good spot as it is a short walk from Kamenovo Beach, the best beach in the vicinity, in my opinion. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and informative. We got many good recommendations about restaurants and beaches. If you rent a car and drive be mindful that the parking for the hotel is small (it can fit about 7-8 cars). The breakfast was good. While a small selection compared to other hotels, everything was fresh. Getting freshly cooked eggs is always a plus whereas many larger hotels serve powdered, prepared eggs. It is a smaller hotel where the owner is often present and well worth staying at for the personal attention they provide.
What could be improved: My only complaint is about the water pressure in the bathroom. It made the toilet difficult to flush, which made my wife angry. But this is not the fault of the hotel. Over-development of tourism and too many hotels have over-burdened the municipal water infrastructure. Just ask the front desk for a bucket to pour some extra water in the bowl if it is a problem in your room. This was a minor problem and did not bother me near as much as it did my wife. 🙂Natalia from Serbia – 14 August 2024 (10/10)
