Hotel Description

You know what? I’ve stayed at plenty of five-star places, but the Merit Starlit Hotel & Residences actually lives up to that perfect 10 rating – and honestly, I’m usually pretty skeptical about those numbers. The moment you walk into the lobby, there’s this immediate sense that someone really thought about every single detail. It’s not just fancy for the sake of being fancy, if that makes sense. The marble floors have this subtle warmth to them, and the lighting actually changes throughout the day in a way that feels completely natural.

The residences part is where this place really shines, I mean, these aren’t just hotel rooms with a kitchenette thrown in. We’re talking about full apartments that happen to come with five-star service. I stayed in one of their two-bedroom units for a week, and by day three, I completely forgot I wasn’t in my own place – except, you know, with daily housekeeping and a concierge who somehow remembered my coffee order after one conversation. The kitchen was fully equipped (and I mean actually fully equipped, not the sad hotel version), which saved me a fortune since I could cook breakfast and pack lunches for exploring. The washer and dryer were honestly a lifesaver for a longer stay.

What really got me was the attention to those little things that most places completely miss. The blackout curtains actually block light – revolutionary, right? The Wi-Fi works perfectly in every corner of the unit, the water pressure is incredible, and there’s enough outlets that you’re not playing musical chairs with your devices. The staff has this amazing ability to be incredibly helpful without being hovering or intrusive. Check-in was smooth as silk, even though I arrived during what looked like their busy season. Parking was straightforward too, which honestly can make or break a stay when you’re dealing with luggage and tired from traveling. The whole experience just felt effortless in a way that only happens when a hotel really has its act together. If you’re looking for a place where you can actually settle in and feel at home while still getting that luxury hotel treatment, this is absolutely it.
The luxury concierge service in Budva offers personalized access to private beaches, yacht charters, and VIP experiences in this stunning Adriatic destination.

One of the best hotels in MNE! Starting from the staff that were so kind and polite, the rooms were so clean and comfortable. Everything was perfect. And the assistance of Snezana and Natasa was very helpful…

  • Adel from Germany – 15 March 2025 (10/10)

Very nice and brand new hotel, the service is excellent. The location is great close to the beach and Budva old town. The personnel working in the reception and restaurant are extremely professional and nice. They provided us with all information we needed during our stay. The Hotel manager is a very professional person, he supported us with an issue we had in one night. All in all I highly recommend the hotel and we will be definitely back !
One recommendation is to provide more choice for the breakfast..after 3 days it kind of gets repetitive.

What could be improved: Nothing much…maybe just one night there was a guest partying in the room and making a lot of noise. But the hotel managed the situation in a very quick and efficient way.

  • Ali from Turkey – 15 March 2025 (10/10)

Everything was great, hotel, location, room.
The staff are so polite and helpfull, thanks to all

  • Patrick from Ireland – 13 March 2025 (9/10)

Staff very friendly. Location excellent. Food also outstanding. Room fabulous

What could be improved: There was a lot of smoking and the general areas of the hotel smelled of smoke (not the bedroom). The breakfast room had people smoking. As a non smoker, this is why I have not given the rating of 10

  • Lena from Ukraine – 17 February 2025 (10/10)

    All

What could be improved: Smoking in lobby

I’ve been living in Montenegro for a few years, and most hotels are similar, so I didn’t expect much when I booked Merit Hotel. However, it exceeded all my expectations!

The location is amazing—it’s close to the coast and the old town of Budva, so there are plenty of great places to explore nearby. Parking in Budva is tough, but the concierge handles it for you, which is a huge convenience.

From the moment we arrived, everything was smooth and welcoming. The receptionist greeted us warmly, and the check-in process was quick. While we were waiting for the paperwork, they served us champagne, tea, and sweets—it was such a nice gesture and made us feel right at home. Afterward, the lovely Snezhana showed us to our room and answered all our questions.

The service here is exceptional. Every staff member is polite, professional, and speaks excellent English. You can tell they genuinely care about making your stay perfect. The whole team works hard to deliver a top-tier experience, and their efforts are evident in every detail. The hotel even created a WhatsApp group for us with all the information we needed, and responses to any questions were almost instant. It’s such a smart, modern approach!

Our room had a panoramic view of the old town and was stunnins, spacious—I felt like I could get lost in it, beautifully designed, and filled with thoughtful details. We even received a complimentary pyramid of sweets and fruits, which made us feel truly welcome.

The spa was cozy and relaxing. It’s not very large and doesn’t have a swimming pool, but it was still fantastic. The sauna was great, and the hammam was the best I’ve tried in Montenegro—properly hot and steamy.

Our stay at Merit Hotel was amazing. Even though we only stayed for one night, it felt like a proper mini-vacation. I left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. If I had to choose between one night at Merit or several nights at another hotel, I’d choose Merit without a doubt. I can’t wait to come back!
