Honestly, I almost walked past Mijovic Apartments the first time I was looking for it – it’s not one of those flashy places with a massive sign out front, which actually turned out to be part of its charm. This is one of those rare finds where the 9.4 rating isn’t some marketing fluke, but actually reflects what you get when you stay there.

What struck me right away was how the place feels more like staying at a friend’s well-appointed apartment than a typical hotel. The owners (I’m pretty sure they’re family-run) have this knack for getting the details right without making a big deal about it. You know what I mean? Like, the coffee maker in my unit was actually decent – not some plastic contraption that makes brown water. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout the building, which honestly can be hit or miss in a lot of three-star places. And the beds… well, I slept better than I do at home most nights, which says something since I’m usually a terrible sleeper when traveling.

The apartment-style setup means you get proper space to spread out, and if you’re staying more than a couple nights, having a little kitchenette makes a real difference. I mean, you don’t have to eat every meal out, and there’s something nice about making your morning coffee in your pajamas instead of getting dressed to hunt down a café. The bathrooms are clean and modern – nothing fancy, but everything works properly and the water pressure is actually good. I’ve stayed in supposedly higher-end places where you get a sad trickle of lukewarm water, so this was refreshing. Check-in was straightforward too, no weird complications or surprise fees that some places spring on you.

What really sets Mijovic apart though is the attention to cleanliness and maintenance. Everything feels well-cared-for without being sterile. The hallways smell fresh (not like cleaning chemicals or… other things), and I never heard much noise from neighboring units even though the place seemed pretty full during my stay. The staff – and I think some of them might be the actual owners – genuinely seem to care about whether you’re comfortable. Not in an overbearing way, just… attentive, I guess. When I had a question about local transport, they didn’t just point me to a tourist brochure but gave me actual useful advice about timing and routes.

Look, it’s not going to wow you with a rooftop pool or marble everything – it’s a three-star place and it knows what it is. But sometimes you want a place that just does the basics really, really well, and that’s exactly what you get here. For the price point, especially with that kind of rating, you’re getting solid value and a genuinely comfortable stay. I’d definitely book here again, which is honestly the best compliment I can give any place.

  Amazing location – East of the city – close to bus station and a monaestry which I recommend must visit. Hosts were very kind and gave local information which was really helpful. Also booked taxi for me.

  The place is very clean and nice and there is even a little kitchen area in the room. Hosts are really kind and helpful. We enjoyed our stay in there. They also pay the tourist tax for us it is a good bonus 🙂

  Very good apartment for people who want to stay in quiet environment. The street has very low traffic, especially during night time, no noise from nearby hotels or party areas, even the bells of nearby monastery are hardly heard. Two food supermarkets are not far, Mega and HDL, not counting a lot of restaurants nearby. Owners, Dragan and Dijana are very friendly and can solve most of problems very quickly. For example, I asked to replace a second bed with a table to work on laptop, it was done next day and also I got two extra chairs.
  
  What could be improved: The only problem in my apartment on the top floor was a weak ceiling light, not enough good to read in the evening. But the owners are aware of this and promised to improve the light (or add a bed lamp for comfort reading) soon as possible.
