Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about this place? It’s actually someone’s home that they’ve turned into guest accommodation, and honestly, that makes all the difference. Walking up to 22. Novembra street – which, by the way, is right in the thick of things in Budva’s old town – I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star spot. But sometimes ratings don’t tell the whole story.
The location is pretty much perfect if you want to be where the action is. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from the ancient city walls and maybe five minutes from Slovenska Beach. The street itself can get a bit lively in the evenings (this is Budva, after all), but the windows are decent and it quiets down after midnight most nights. What I really appreciated was how the host had set things up – it feels like staying at a friend’s place rather than some sterile hotel room. The kitchen actually has everything you need, which is rare in these converted apartments, and there’s this little balcony where you can have your morning coffee while watching the town wake up.
Here’s the thing about Budva in summer – everywhere gets packed, parking becomes a nightmare, and prices go through the roof. But this place somehow manages to stay reasonable, and the host actually helped me figure out where to park (there’s a public lot about 300 meters away that’s way cheaper than the tourist traps). The apartment itself is clean and modern without being fancy – new bathroom, decent Wi-Fi, air conditioning that actually works. I loved that there were local touches everywhere, like having proper Montenegrin coffee in the kitchen and recommendations for the bakery around the corner that makes the best burek you’ll find outside of Belgrade.
What really sold me on recommending this place was the personal attention. The host met me at check-in, walked me through everything, and even marked up a map with spots the tour groups don’t hit – like this tiny restaurant tucked behind the citadel where locals actually eat. You’re close enough to walk to everything that matters: the marina, the beach clubs, even that crazy nightlife strip if that’s your thing. But you can also duck into the old town’s quieter corners when you need a break from the crowds. It’s that sweet spot where you feel connected to the real Budva, not just the postcard version.
