Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first rolled up to Montesun Dario Apartments on Filipa Kovacevica Street, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in understated packages, and this little gem absolutely delivers on that front.

The thing about this spot is its location – and I don’t mean that in the generic “convenient location” way travel sites always throw around. I mean it’s actually perfectly positioned in Budva where you can walk to the Old Town in about eight minutes (I timed it), but you’re far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually sleep at night. Filipa Kovacevica Street is one of those residential areas where locals actually live, so you’ll hear normal neighborhood sounds instead of drunk British tourists at 3 AM – trust me on this one. The apartments themselves surprised me too. They’re not fancy, but they’re thoughtfully done. Everything works (which honestly isn’t always a given in Montenegro), the WiFi is solid, and whoever designed these places actually understood that travelers need counter space and decent lighting. The kitchenettes are small but functional – I mean, you can actually cook a proper meal if you want to, though with Budva’s restaurant scene, why would you?

What really stands out is how the staff runs this place. Check-in was smooth, they knew the area well enough to give real recommendations (not just the touristy stuff), and when I had a minor issue with the air conditioning, someone was up to fix it within twenty minutes. That 9.9 rating makes sense when you experience this kind of attention to detail. The building itself sits quietly among some newer developments, but it doesn’t feel sterile or cookie-cutter. There’s parking available – and in Budva during summer, that’s worth its weight in gold. The whole area gets this lovely evening breeze from the coast, which is maybe a fifteen-minute walk downhill to the beaches. Actually, that’s another thing I loved about staying here – you’re close enough to pop down to the water whenever you want, but high enough up that you get those nice mountain views from some of the apartments.

Here’s what sealed it for me though: after staying in probably dozens of places along the Montenegrin coast, this felt like somewhere I could actually relax rather than just crash between activities. The neighborhood has a few local cafes where you can grab morning coffee without paying tourist prices, and there’s a small market about three blocks away for basics. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying an extra night because it just feels right – comfortable without being boring, well-located without being in the thick of everything. If you’re looking for a genuine base in Budva rather than just a place to sleep off your nightlife adventures, Montesun Dario really delivers on that promise.
