The neighborhood has that authentic Montenegrin residential feel during the day, with locals doing their grocery shopping and kids playing in the courtyards, but it’s quiet enough at night that you’ll actually sleep well. I mean, you might catch some distant music from the beach bars on weekends, but nothing like what you’d deal with if you stayed right in the thick of things.

What really got me was how thoughtfully the place is set up inside – whoever runs NOI 1 clearly understands what travelers need. The kitchen actually has proper cookware (not those flimsy tourist rental pans), and there’s enough counter space to prep a real meal if you want to hit the local market. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly for video calls, which honestly can be hit-or-miss in this part of Budva. Air conditioning kept up fine even during those brutal July afternoons when the whole city feels like an oven. The bathroom’s compact but functional, with decent water pressure – and you know what, after staying in some places along the Adriatic where the shower barely trickles, that matters more than you’d think. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area (typical Budva problem), but the hosts gave me solid advice about where to find spots that don’t cost a fortune. One small thing – the elevator in the building is… well, let’s just say it has character, but it works and saves you from hauling luggage up six flights.

The 8.7 rating makes total sense once you factor in the value proposition here. You’re getting a proper apartment setup at three-star prices, in a neighborhood where you can grab fresh burek from the bakery around the corner in the morning and still be on Mogren Beach before the crowds arrive. It’s not luxury, but it’s smart and comfortable, and the hosts clearly care about the details that make a difference during your stay.
