Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Old Town Apartment MARTIN? It’s actually *inside* the old town walls – like, properly inside on Vranjak street, not just claiming to be “near” the old town like half the places in Budva do. I mean, you’re literally walking on those ancient cobblestones the moment you step out the door, which is pretty special when you think about it. The building itself has that weathered Montenegrin stone look that somehow feels both sturdy and romantic, especially in the evening light when those narrow streets get all golden and atmospheric.

What really won me over, though, was how Martin (the owner) actually gets what travelers need. The apartment manages to feel like a proper home base rather than just a place to crash – there’s decent WiFi (honestly tested it on video calls), the kitchen actually has everything you need if you want to grab ingredients from the morning market, and the whole place stays surprisingly cool even during those sweltering July afternoons when the Adriatic sun is absolutely relentless. The location is kind of genius too, because you’re close enough to hear the evening buzz from the restaurants and bars, but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 2 AM. Well, mostly not – it’s still Budva in summer, so there’s going to be some nighttime energy regardless.

Here’s the thing that really sealed it for me: you can walk to Mogren Beach in about eight minutes, but you can also duck into Konoba Stari Grad for dinner without having to navigate through crowds or figure out parking (which is basically impossible in the old town anyway). During the day, you’ve got that perfect setup where you can explore all the little galleries and shops, then retreat back to your own space when the midday cruise ship crowds descend. The apartment gets that morning light that makes you want to have coffee on the small balcony, and honestly, waking up to church bells instead of traffic noise is something you don’t realize you miss until you have it again. Sure, it’s a 3-star place so don’t expect marble bathrooms or a concierge, but that 9.1 rating makes total sense when you actually stay there – it’s the kind of spot where everything just works the way it should, and you end up recommending it to people back home without even thinking about it.

Reviews

  • Great little apartment to soak up the feeling of Budva Old Town. – Vizer from Australia – August 7, 2025 (9/10)

Location was fantastic- right in the heart of Old Town and just a few minutes walk from the harbour and a nice beach. Jelena is a wonderful host who goes out of her way to assist and easily contactable.
AC was welcome in the nighttime.

What could be improved: TV channels weren’t able to be accessed at time of stay. Wasn’t a big issue as out exploring most of the days. No microwave, but could use the stove oven if needed.

  • Perfect location for a short stay – Natalie from United Kingdom – August 6, 2025 (8/10)

    – location is amazing. Beautiful street in the old town, but also one of the quieter streets so we were not disturbed
    – views from the window
    – kitchen facilities
    – the host. Probably the most helpful host I have ever experienced

What could be improved: – bathroom was small

  • Wonderful – Priya from India – June 19, 2025 (9/10)

The property is in Budva Old Town, picturesque views and close to the beach.
Jelena was available via Whatsapp throughout, really helpful and lovely.

  • If you want to feel the Old Town in Budva, then this option is just what you need. You live in a hou – Valerii from Ukraine – April 7, 2025 (10/10)

If you want to feel the Old Town in Budva, then this option is just what you need. You live in a house that is hundreds of years old. The same houses around.
From the apartment you immediately get to one of the streets of the Old Town. Around there are shops, cafes, restaurants for every taste and budget. The sea is nearby. There are many cafes on the shore, and the coffee there, by the way, is very good. There are many fish restaurants, the price is quite bearable. They cook fish very well in Atlantic. This restaurant is 7-8 minutes walk from the Old Town.
The apartments themselves have all the conditions, a kitchen, a shower, hot water all the time.
    Very clean bed linen.
Evergreen leaves look into the windows, the windows are towards the sea.
The hostess Jelena is very responsible, sociable, immediately responds to any requests. She organized an excellent transfer for us to the Podgorica airport. We recommend.
We are planning to come there in the fall.

  • In the heart of the old town right near the beach and shops. Everything is in walking distance. – Moonstar from Australia – July 8, 2024 (10/10)

The apartment was in the heart of the old town, with all the shops and beach so close. We loved hearing the church bells and hustle and bustle of tourist and locals just by our doorstep!

What could be improved: The bed needs a mattress overlay to make it comfortable and the towels need to be bigger. A few more condiments would be appreciated. Like pepper and olive oil.

  • Exceptional – Ünlü from Turkey – April 23, 2024 (10/10)

Everthıng is very good. Thank you soo much🍓🥰

  • Exceptional – Nicola from United Kingdom – August 22, 2023 (10/10)

This apartment is in an amazing location in the old town so many places to eat and drink right on your door step literally! I would recommend any one to stay here , it's our second visit to budva , it's a beautiful place .

  • perfect location, old bulding, good kitchen, small bathroom – Selen from Turkey – August 11, 2023 (8/10)

it is in the middle of old town, 2 mins to beach by walk. kitchen is available for cooking.

What could be improved: the bathroom is really small and ventilation voice is too much. bed is too old that i could hear the voice of metal.

  • Cute place in Old Town – Rovinrosie from United States – May 25, 2023 (8/10)

The apartment was perfect for an Old Town stay, close to everything. Being above the pub was only a problem 1 night. Windows are very soundproof. Don't know about kitchenware because I didn't cook.

What could be improved: My issues are not unique to this place. I can understand not supplying spices and condiments, but SALT & PEPPER!!! C'mon. I stayed as a single, so I got ONE PILLOW. Why?? She supplied ample towels, but they're TINY, no bigger than a hand towel. The place was surface clean but could do with a deep cleaning in bathtub and refrigerator.

  • We had a wonderful time in Budva but did not get a lot of sleep. – Glenn from Australia – June 22, 2023 (7/10)

Excellent location in the Old Town with easy access to restaurants and beaches. It is however very close to the church bell tower and the bells ring on the half hour throughout the night.

What could be improved: 1. The bed. The mattresses are very old and uncomfortable and the bed springs are very noisy. The make a sound every time you move in bed.
    2. The shower head kept falling from its clip on the wall.
    3. The towels. There were plenty but they were small and old.
