Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of apartments around the Balkans, and this little place in Budva honestly surprised me. When I first saw the address on Ulica VI, I’ll admit I had to ask around a bit – it’s one of those quiet residential streets that doesn’t scream “tourist accommodation,” which actually turned out to be perfect. You know how sometimes you book something that sounds too good to be true? Well, the “5 minutes to the beach” part isn’t just marketing fluff – I timed it, and it’s actually closer to 3 minutes if you walk at a normal pace toward Slovenska Plaza.
The apartment itself sits in this converted building that feels authentically Montenegrin without being run-down. Stan A2 is on the second floor (no elevator, but honestly, it’s not a big deal unless you’re hauling massive suitcases). What struck me immediately was how quiet it gets at night – and I mean properly quiet, not that fake quiet where you still hear traffic. The street sees mostly locals going about their business, maybe some kids playing football in the early evening. The one-bedroom setup works really well for couples or solo travelers who want actual space to spread out. I mean, the living area has this decent-sized couch where you can actually relax with a book, and the kitchen isn’t just a hot plate shoved in a corner – you’ve got proper counter space and a full-size fridge.
Here’s what I really appreciated: the owner clearly understands what travelers need without going overboard. There’s strong WiFi (I was working remotely part of the time), decent water pressure in the shower, and – this matters more than you’d think – proper blackout curtains so you can sleep past sunrise if you want. Parking can be a bit tricky in the immediate area, but there’s usually space within a block or two, and honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t need a car much. The Old Town is maybe a 10-minute walk, and you’ll pass this little bakery on the way that does incredible burek – grab some for breakfast and eat it on your balcony. Speaking of which, the balcony isn’t huge, but it catches morning sun and gives you a slice of neighborhood life to watch. During my stay in late September, I could hear the sea if I really listened, which sounds cheesy but was actually pretty nice. The 9.4 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s not luxury, but it’s exactly what it promises to be, done well and without any unpleasant surprises.
Exploring Budva offers visitors an unforgettable journey through Montenegro’s coastal jewel, from its ancient citadel to its pristine beaches and lively summer atmosphere.
