You know what caught me off guard about Ponta Nova? The sea view actually delivers – and I mean really delivers. I’ve stayed in plenty of “sea view” places that technically show water if you crane your neck out the window, but this one-bedroom in Rafailovići gives you that proper Adriatic panorama that makes you want to grab your coffee and just stand there for way too long each morning.

The apartment itself is honestly pretty solid for what you’re paying. It’s got that clean, unfussy vibe – nothing fancy, but everything works. The bedroom’s comfortable enough, and the living area flows nicely into a little kitchen setup that’s actually useful if you want to grab groceries from the local market (there’s a decent one just up from the main road, by the way). What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night. Rafailovići isn’t as crazy as central Budva – you’re maybe a 10-minute walk from all that chaos along the Budva Riviera, but here you can actually sleep without earplugs. The building’s well-maintained too, which… well, that’s not always a given in this part of Montenegro, if I’m being honest.

Location-wise, this is where it gets interesting. Rafailovići sits right between Budva and Bečići, so you’re basically in this sweet spot where you can walk to the pebbly beach in two minutes or hop on one of those frequent buses into Budva proper when you want restaurants and nightlife. The beach here is actually nicer than Budva’s main stretch – less crowded, cleaner water, and you’ve got those dramatic mountains dropping right into the sea. During peak summer it definitely fills up, but even then it’s manageable. There’s parking nearby (not always easy to find in this area), and honestly, the whole neighborhood has this laid-back local feel that I didn’t expect. You’ll hear more Serbian and Montenegrin than English, which I actually loved – it feels authentic rather than like some tourist bubble.

The 10 rating makes sense once you factor in the price point and what you’re getting. This isn’t luxury by any stretch, but it’s exactly what it promises to be: a clean, comfortable base with genuine sea views in a spot that gives you the best of both worlds. I mean, you can make breakfast while watching fishing boats head out in the morning, then be sipping rakija in Budva’s old town by evening. That’s pretty hard to beat, especially in Montenegro where the good spots tend to book up fast once word gets out.
