This little gem sits just far enough from the main tourist chaos that you actually get some peace at night, but close enough that you’re not hiking forever to reach the Old Town walls or grab dinner at one of those seaside places everyone raves about.

What really got me was how the staff here genuinely seemed to care – I mean, not in that forced hotel school way, but like they actually wanted you to have a good time in their city. The woman at reception (wish I remembered her name) spent twenty minutes drawing little maps and marking spots where locals go for coffee, not just the obvious tourist traps. The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable without being fancy – think solid beds, decent shower pressure, and AC that actually works during those sweltering July afternoons when Budva turns into an oven. I’ll be honest, the décor isn’t winning any design awards, but everything feels well-maintained and there’s something refreshing about a place that focuses on the basics instead of flashy Instagram moments.

The real magic happens when you step outside though. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Slovenska Plaža, but positioned perfectly to avoid the worst of the summer crowds that pile up near the main beach entrance. Early mornings, you can grab coffee from that little bakery around the corner (the burek is ridiculous) and actually find a decent spot on the sand before the day-trippers arrive from Podgorica. Plus – and this matters more than you’d think – parking here isn’t the nightmare it becomes closer to the marina. I watched people circle for an hour looking for spots down by the harbor while I was already settled in with a cold Nikšićko watching the sunset. Sometimes location really is everything, just not in the way the guidebooks always talk about it. For what you’re paying at Proleterska Place, you’re getting that sweet spot of convenience without the premium prices, and honestly, that’s exactly what most of us are looking for when we travel.
