So I stumbled across Rajska dolina Budva last summer, and honestly? The name translates to “Paradise Valley” which sounds like marketing fluff, but it actually kind of delivers on that promise. It’s tucked away on Omladinskih brigada street – you know, that quieter residential area that’s maybe a 15-minute walk from the Old Town madness but far enough that you won’t hear drunk tourists singing at 3 AM.

The thing about this place is it feels more like staying at someone’s well-appointed home than a typical hotel. I mean, it’s got that 4-star rating and an 8.2 score from guests, but what really struck me was how the staff actually remembered my name after the first day – and not in that forced, corporate hospitality way. The rooms have this comfortable, lived-in quality without being shabby, if that makes sense. You’ll get proper blackout curtains (thank god, because Montenegro’s summer sun is no joke), and the AC actually works, which… well, let’s just say that’s not always a given in this part of the Balkans. The bathrooms are surprisingly spacious too – I could actually spread out my toiletries without everything falling into the sink.

What I really appreciated was the location’s sweet spot factor. You’re close enough to walk down to Slovenska Plaža when you want that beach vibe, but you can also easily catch a bus or taxi to explore places like Sveti Stefan without dealing with the parking nightmare that is central Budva in July and August. Speaking of parking – they’ve got it sorted, which is honestly half the battle in Montenegro. The neighborhood itself has this authentic feel where you’ll see locals walking their dogs and old guys playing chess at the café around the corner, not just endless souvenir shops. Mornings are particularly lovely here; you wake up to actual birdsong instead of street cleaners and delivery trucks. The breakfast spread is solid – nothing fancy, but proper local cheeses, fresh bread that’s actually baked that morning, and coffee that doesn’t taste like it’s been sitting around since yesterday. I’d definitely come back, especially during shoulder season when Budva isn’t completely overrun with tour groups and the weather’s still perfect for exploring the coast.

  We liked the friendly staff, there were few people at the pool, the chalet was clean and there were all the necessary utensils. very beautiful area: lots of trees and flowers. and also very beautiful lighting in the evening
  
  What could be improved: We would like to draw your attention to the fact that we were not able to use the jacuzzi even once in three days:
  We came with two families and took the second chalet more expensive only because of this jacuzzi. and in the end it did not bring us any value 🙁
  
  On the first day in the evening the jacuzzi was 36 but it did not respond to the buttons. The temperature and bubbles did not work. On the second day we reported the issue, they told us later that everything would be fixed, but in the evening of the second day it still didn’t work. We called the employee again – this time he confirmed the problem in our presence and said that everything will be fixed tomorrow morning. On the third day we came in the evening and it was cold. In 1 hour the water heated up but only 2 degrees. As a result, after 11 pm we went to bed cuz it was too cold.
  
  And the second minus is the garbage dump next door which was not mentioned anywhere 🙁 two evenings in a row when there was a wind from the dump it was unpleasant to sit on the terrace for more than 10 minutes because it smelled really bad

  Staff were fabulous. Couldn’t do enough for us. Lovely pool area.
  
  What could be improved: Bedrooms were TINY. And I mean tiny. Couldn’t walk down the side of the beds and had to put all clothes and luggage in lounge. Also really close to the refuse tip. They’ve done their best to screen it with trees but it’s very obviously there. But genuinely lovely people and staff, definitely can’t complain about them!

  What could be improved: Tricky location to find and drive to after all the roadworks enroute to Budva currently from North (not property’s fault). Municipal works next door would concern if staying longer

  House and garden were beautiful and walking distance from the beach
  
  What could be improved: Before check out, cleaners were already in our room(we went to breakfast). Waze/google maps lead us to another location, so we did ask directions from locals.

  Lovely place and staff was very kind. We had no problem communicating in english. Very modern furniture, nice place to relax. Lot of space to park your car.
  
  What could be improved: The breakfast photos on Booking had nothing to do with reality and coffee was not included. Google Maps location should be updated, the hotel is at the end of the road which is further from the beach then some might think.

  We had a short but very pleasant and comfortable stay. The house was clean, with fresh sheets and well-maintained spaces.
  The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The location was very convenient, just 10 minutes away from the city center. We would definitely recommend it! 🙂
