You know what really caught me off guard about the Regent Resort Budva? It’s one of those places that actually lives up to its 9.2 rating – and honestly, I’m usually pretty skeptical about those numbers. I mean, we’ve all stayed at places that looked amazing online and then… well, you know how that goes. But this four-star spot genuinely surprised me from the moment I walked into that lobby.

The thing about Budva is that it can get absolutely chaotic during peak season – I’m talking shoulder-to-shoulder crowds along the Old Town walls and beach bars pumping music until dawn. But the Regent somehow manages to feel like this calm bubble removed from all that madness, while still keeping you close enough to dive into it when you want to. The rooms have this understated elegance that doesn’t try too hard, if that makes sense. Clean lines, comfortable beds (seriously comfortable – I actually asked about the mattresses), and these little touches that show someone was thinking about what travelers actually need. Like decent lighting for reading and enough outlets that you’re not playing musical chairs with your phone charger and laptop.

What really won me over, though, was how the staff seemed to genuinely know the area. I asked about avoiding the tourist traps for dinner, and instead of rattling off the usual suspects, the concierge told me about this family-run konoba tucked away in the hills where locals go for proper Montenegrin cuisine. The kind of place you’d never find without insider knowledge, you know? And the timing advice was spot-on too – they suggested hitting the Old Town right at sunset when the day-trippers start heading back to their cruise ships but the evening crowd hasn’t arrived yet. Those golden hour moments when you can actually hear the waves lapping against the medieval walls instead of just… chaos.

I’ll be honest, the location isn’t right on the main beach strip, which some people might see as a downside. But actually? It’s better this way. You’re a short walk from all the action but far enough away that you can sleep without earplugs (trust me, this matters in Budva). The hotel runs a little shuttle service that takes the guesswork out of getting around, though I ended up walking most places anyway – Montenegro’s coast is just too beautiful to miss from inside a car.

One small thing that stuck with me: the breakfast setup felt more like what you’d expect at a five-star place. Not just the usual continental spread, but local cheeses and honey, fresh pastries that were actually fresh, and coffee that didn’t taste like it had been sitting in a warmer for hours. It’s those morning details that set the tone for your whole day, especially when you’re planning to explore somewhere as stunning as the Budva Riviera.

  Great staff, particularly Luka at the reception. Quiet room and comfortable bed. Everything is new, nicely furnished and clean. The hotel was not fully booked and we got upgraded for free to a room with a great sea view. Nice spa. Excellent dinner in the hotel restaurant. Superb breakfast, selection and quality of a 5* hotel. Easy walk to the beautiful Przno beach and tennis club.

  The most accommodating hotel I’ve ever stayed at! I arrived earlier than the check-in time and they were kind enough to give me a room upon arrival. As if that was not enough my room was upgraded to the most beautiful suite where I was welcomed with a bottle of Chardonnay and a cheese board.
  
  Throughout the entirety of my stay the staff were nothing short of welcoming, helpful, friendly and kind!
  
  I cannot forget to mention a staff member called Luka who went above and beyond to help me book taxis when I was out and about and ensure my safety whilst travelling solo.

The location is perfect, just about 250 meters from the beach, making it super easy to enjoy the sea. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay. A special thank you to Ivanka at the front desk – she was always smiling, welcoming, and truly made a difference. Highly recommended – I would definitely love to come back!

  Hot recommendation for this great hotel:
  Unfortunately, we had only one night.
  We stayed in a room in front of the sea.
  The room was comfortable, new and very clean, heated floor in the bathroom, nice terrace.
  The staff was kind and welcoming.
  Breakfast was delicious!
  We also recommend the restaurant in the hotel for dinner. We had 30% discount! The dishes were great, you can see the chef is professional!
