When I first pulled up to Regina Residence, I’ll be honest — it’s not the flashiest place you’ll see in Montenegro. But you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want. This three-star property sits quietly in Prijevor, just outside the main hustle of Budva, and there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about it. The building has that clean, modern look without trying too hard, and I immediately noticed how easy it was to find parking right on site — which, trust me, is a bigger deal than you might think when you’re dealing with Montenegro’s coastal areas.

Location & Getting Around

Prijevor is one of those spots that locals know but tourists often overlook, and honestly, that works in your favor here. You’re close enough to Budva’s Old Town and beaches — maybe a 10-minute drive — but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the summer crowds stumbling past your window at 2 AM. I found the area pretty peaceful, with a few local spots nearby where you can grab coffee or a quick bite. The fact that couples rate this place so highly makes sense when you experience how quiet and private it feels, especially compared to the party-heavy hotels closer to Budva’s center.

The Accommodation

My room was clean and functional — nothing fancy, but everything worked properly, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed along this coast. The space felt modern enough, with decent air conditioning (crucial during summer months) and a bathroom that actually had good water pressure. I mean, these might sound like basic things, but you’d be surprised how often hotels get the fundamentals wrong. The windows were well-sealed too, so even though you’re near a main road, noise wasn’t really an issue during the night.

Practical Perks

Here’s where Regina Residence actually shines — it’s the little things that make travel easier. That free private parking I mentioned? It’s properly secured and spacious, not some cramped afterthought. When you’re exploring Montenegro by car (which I’d definitely recommend), having a guaranteed parking spot eliminates a major headache. The staff was genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions. They gave me solid recommendations for local beaches that weren’t overrun with tour groups, and their directions were actually accurate — again, sounds basic, but you know how it goes.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t a place that’s going to wow you with fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy lobbies. What it does well is provide a solid, comfortable base for exploring the Budva area without the premium prices or tourist-trap atmosphere. The 8.4 rating makes sense when you consider what most people actually need: a clean place to sleep, reliable service, easy parking, and a location that gives you access to everything without being in the thick of it. For couples especially, there’s something appealing about having a quiet retreat where you can actually relax between beach days and evening explorations of Budva’s restaurants and nightlife.

Hotel in Budva booking should be done early, especially during summer season when the city hosts internationally popular music festivals and beach parties.

  Beautiful house in the Mountain with a nice view into the Mountain. It's recommended to have a car to get there. Otherwise it's about 20€ (20min) per taxi from Budva (depents on destination). Because it's built into the mountains, you have to deal with some insects, which was not a problem for us. But it would have been lovely to give the room a quick cleaning, before our arrival.
  The pool area is awesome and clean with all you need. We spent a whole day at the pool.
  The owner is very friendly and showed us around at arrival. For your calculations, you get asks for a down payment per bank transfer in advance, which can lead to additional costs depending on our bank (we payed about 40€ more because of bank fees). But for us, it was worth it. Loved the place and would come back 🙂

  Everything was good, we enjoyed our accommodation. Paritet cost and quality are excellent. The host was amiable and helpful. I can recommend this place for guests with a car, without a vehicle, it might be hard to take the road from the beach to the apartments.
  
  What could be improved: The pan, which was in the cooking zone, didn't work with an induction stove.
  There were no kitchen knives, only table knives.
  The bed linen is tired.

  We liked it a lot! Big pool with beautifull view. We were living in 70 sq.m. room – was really good for 5 people family. Beds for adults in sleeping room comfy, but sofa-bed for kids in living room not so comfy. All walls white makes it very bright inside. View from balcony exciting. Everything fresh nice and clean. Little sad – in our room refrigerator was without freezer so we could not prepare icecubes. Very good for longer stays – possible to use washing mashine with all neccesary powders. As residence is up in the mountain area you will have facinating view, but as a small negative – no option to walk to the seaside. But there are two beaches 10 min drive Jazz or more calm Trsteno. Would definetely recomend this nice residence to others!

  What could be improved: the shower in the bathroom is not separated, because of this it is very wet and the whole bath is in water. But it is not in all rooms. Wi fi not good.
