Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about Rooftop Apartments & Rooms? The name actually undersells the place. I mean, sure, you’re getting that rooftop vibe – and honestly, the views from some of the rooms are pretty spectacular – but there’s this whole thoughtful design thing happening that I wasn’t expecting from a 4-star spot.

The first thing you notice walking in is how they’ve managed to make it feel both modern and lived-in at the same time. It’s not that sterile hotel chain feeling where everything’s beige and safe. The lobby has this relaxed energy, sort of like staying at a friend’s really well-appointed apartment building, which I guess makes sense given the name. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no upselling or complicated key card explanations, just friendly staff who actually seemed to know the neighborhood. They mentioned a few local spots I’d never heard of, which turned out to be solid recommendations.

The rooms themselves are where this place really shines, though. Mine had these huge windows that let in tons of natural light, and the bed was one of those situations where you end up testing the mattress within five minutes because it just looks that comfortable (it was). What I appreciated most was the attention to practical details – good water pressure, outlets where you actually need them, and decent soundproofing. I could barely hear the street noise, even though we’re clearly in an active part of town. The kitchenette setup in some rooms is genuinely useful too, not just decorative. I actually used it, which rarely happens in hotels.

Here’s the thing that really won me over: the rooftop area isn’t just some afterthought deck with plastic furniture. They’ve created these different zones up there – spots where you can work with your laptop, areas that are better for evening drinks, and these corner spaces that catch the morning sun perfectly. I found myself heading up there with coffee most mornings, and it became this unexpected ritual. The 9-point rating makes total sense when you experience little touches like that. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but everything they do, they do well. The whole experience feels intentional rather than accidental, if that makes sense. Plus, the neighborhood has this energy that’s busy without being overwhelming – you can walk to plenty of good restaurants and shops, but it doesn’t feel like you’re staying in the middle of a tourist trap.

  Apartment was big and spacious. The balcony was huge and the sofa very comfortable. There were toiletries and washing detergent and a coffee machine for use.
  
  What could be improved: Bathroom was far too small. Not suitable for a larger person to use and not accessible for anyone with mobility issues. There was also no bin in the apartment despite asking for one. Little far out of town but we are happy to walk.

  Milena, the host employer, was really nice and responsive. The apartment is brand new, seemed to have been launch in Summer 2023.
  
  What could be improved: There were a bit of hairs all over the sheets and in the blanket. Cleanness can be improved.

  The location was ok, even though a bit far from the beach, it was easy to get there and had a lot of markets and bakeries nearby. Cleaning was also ok.
  
  What could be improved: The reception personnel was ok, but we had a problem with a garnish which broke in one room and the repairman didn't arrive to fix it. The window was next to the sofa where my daughters slept, so it was quite impossible to sleep in the morning. Also we remarked a lot of dirt in the entrance hall of the building. No one cleaned it during the whole week. The kitchen wasn't also equipped accordingly, there were a bit too few plates and cooking pots, no microwave. I think it would be better if they'd improve this too. Coffee pods were also an issue, though we were glad to solve this by buying some. The internet connection was also poor.

  New apartment, newly furnished, very clean, parking available, garage with elevator to the apartments. Staff was nice and accommodating. Location is good, you can reach the centar walking. There are a lot of bakeries, super markets and restorants close by.
  
  What could be improved: WiFi was not always working. Same goes for the TV channels. First apartment we received was very small, with no kitchen, no terace and view of the cemetery. However they were kind to change it for us the next day for a spacious one.
