First Impressions
Walking up to Rooms Dana in Budva’s Old Town, you immediately get that feeling you’ve stumbled onto something special. This three-star property sits right in the heart of the medieval quarter, and I mean literally — you’re surrounded by centuries-old stone walls and narrow cobblestone streets that most tourists only dream about accessing. The building itself has that authentic Montenegrin charm without trying too hard, which honestly is refreshing when you’ve seen too many over-renovated places that lose their soul.
The Perfect Old Town Location
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re actually inside the ancient city walls, not just near them. Stefan Mitrov Ljubisa street is one of those addresses that locals nod approvingly at when you mention it. You can roll out of bed and be at the famous Citadel in about two minutes, or wander down to the marina for morning coffee without dealing with crowds. The location score of 9.5 isn’t just marketing fluff — couples especially seem to get it, rating it 9.3 for romantic getaways, and I can see why. There’s something magical about having those medieval streets practically to yourself in the early morning.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d want from a well-run guesthouse — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged without unnecessary frills. You know what struck me? The attention to practical details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. Good lighting for reading, proper storage space, and windows that actually open to let in that Mediterranean breeze. The bathrooms are modern and functional, which matters more than you’d think when you’re dealing with Old Town plumbing in other places.
Daily Life and Atmosphere
What really sets Rooms Dana apart is how it feels like you’re staying in a real neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble. The 8.8 rating reflects something you notice after a day or two — this place just works smoothly. The staff knows the area inside and out, so when you ask about the best time to visit the beach or where locals actually eat, you get genuine recommendations. Mornings are particularly lovely here because you’re up before the day-trippers arrive, and you get to experience Old Town Budva the way it’s meant to be — quiet, atmospheric, with just the sound of your footsteps on ancient stones.
Why Guests Love It
Honestly, it comes down to authenticity and location working together perfectly. You’re not paying five-star prices, but you’re getting something arguably more valuable — a genuine Old Town experience that most visitors never access. The combination of being in the top-rated area of Budva while maintaining that intimate, local feel is pretty rare. I’ve stayed in fancier places that felt sterile, and cheaper ones that cut too many corners. Rooms Dana hits that sweet spot where everything you need is there, the location couldn’t be better, and you feel like you’ve discovered something rather than just booked a room.

What Our Guests Say
The best location in the heart of old town ❤️
What could be improved: Overall very neat and clean but the shower is the best part of the property
Really busy when arriving in the night, and really difficult to find a parking spot when arriving by car, but excellent location in the old town!😊
The host was welcoming and helpful.
Location
The property was clean, modern and good value for money! In my opinion the room looks way better in person than on the pictures! The location was perfect, communication was quick.
I messaged the staff and asked if they could decorate the room with some balloons as it was my partners birthday and our anniversary and they did a wonderful job of this! Thankyou.
What could be improved: Could have done with an extra pillow but that’s just being picky!
The landlord Nikola is a perfect guy. He helps you about everything. My wife got sick as soon as we arrived. He took us to the hospital with his own car and waited there for us. He is a life saver.
The rooms are in the middle of everything.
I will stay there everytime I go Budva.
Best location, really good rooms and kind hosts
What could be improved: Nothing, everything was perfect
Host is AMAZING, location is perfect, rooms are clean. Highly recommended.
Location of the room . Walkable distance from attractions
Everything was very nice, a caring and clean host. I definitely recommend it, the location is very good and historical. very close to beaches.
The location is perfect, away from the new hotels and the masses. The old town is beautiful and cozy, the apartment is a cca. 7 min walk away from Mogren II beach which we liked best in Budva. The bus station is cca. 20 min away. The host is very nice and helpful, he helped guide us to the apartment as we couldn't find it initially. The room and the bathroom were completely clean. There is no common kitchen, which was not completely clear from the description. Very good value for the price.
What could be improved: Nothing really.
