You know what caught me off guard about Sigma apartment? The location is actually brilliant – and I mean that in a way you won’t realize until you’ve been in Budva for a day or two. Sure, it’s in the Profesorske zgrade area of Dubovica, which sounds super official and maybe boring, but honestly it’s this perfect sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything without being in the middle of the tourist chaos.

I stayed there last summer and the first thing I noticed was how quiet the mornings were. You’re maybe a 10-minute walk from Budva’s old town (which gets absolutely packed by noon), but up in Dubovica you can actually hear birds instead of drunk British tourists at 2 AM. The apartment itself is pretty straightforward – clean, functional, nothing fancy but everything works. The beds are comfortable enough, though I mean, after walking around Budva’s cobblestones all day you’d probably sleep on concrete. What I really appreciated was the little balcony space where you can have your morning coffee and actually plan your day without feeling rushed. The Wi-Fi is solid too, which matters if you’re trying to figure out bus schedules to Kotor or booking those boat trips to the Blue Cave.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before booking: the walk down to the beach and old town is easy, but coming back up – especially after a long beach day or with groceries – is a bit of a climb. Not terrible, just something to mentally prepare for. But that same hillside location means you get these glimpses of the Adriatic between buildings that are honestly prettier than some of the “sea view” rooms I’ve paid extra for elsewhere. The parking situation is actually manageable too, which in Montenegro is basically a minor miracle. And look, I’m not saying this place will blow your mind or anything, but for a 3-star spot it punches above its weight. The fact that it’s got a 9.3 rating makes total sense once you spend a few days there – it’s just solid, reliable, and well-positioned. Plus the price point means you can spend your money on the good stuff like fresh seafood down at the harbor or day trips to Perast instead of blowing your budget on some overpriced resort room.
