Look, I’ll be straight with you about SMS Apartments – this place caught me completely off guard in the best possible way. When I first walked up, honestly, the building itself doesn’t scream luxury or anything flashy, but there’s something really solid and welcoming about it. You know what I mean? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t need to show off. The moment I stepped into my apartment (and these are proper apartments, not just hotel rooms with a mini-fridge), I got it. We’re talking full kitchens with actual counter space, living areas where you can actually spread out, and – this might sound weird – but the whole place just felt… lived-in, in a good way. Like someone actually thought about how people use spaces.

The staff here gets it, too. Check-in was this refreshingly normal conversation, not some scripted hotel routine, and when I mentioned I was trying to figure out the best coffee spot nearby, the front desk guy actually drew me a little map to his personal favorite place three blocks over (which, by the way, was absolutely perfect). That’s the kind of local knowledge you can’t fake. What really impressed me was how quiet everything stayed, even with families in the building – you’d think with full apartments there’d be more noise, but the soundproofing is actually really solid. I mean, I could hear my neighbors existed, but it wasn’t intrusive at all. The building feels more like a well-run residential place than a hotel, which makes sense given that some people clearly stay here for extended periods.

Here’s the thing about SMS Apartments – it’s not trying to be everything to everyone, and that’s exactly why it works so well. If you need a spa or room service or some concierge arranging dinner reservations, this isn’t your spot. But if you want space to actually relax, a kitchen so you’re not eating out every meal, and a genuine feeling of staying somewhere real rather than generic, honestly, you’d be hard-pressed to find better. The neighborhood feels authentically local without being sketchy, there’s decent parking (which is saying something), and that 9.8 rating? Yeah, I get it now. It’s not perfect – the WiFi can be a bit spotty in the evenings when everyone’s streaming, and the elevator is one of those older, slower ones – but those are the kind of minor things that fade away when everything else just works. You’ll probably find yourself not wanting to leave, which is either a great sign or a potential problem, depending on how you look at it.

Hotel in Budva booking should be done early, especially during summer season when the city hosts internationally popular music festivals and beach parties.

  It was clean, good location and the staff was friendly. They let us leave our luggage on the next day for a couple of hours, so we didn't have to carry it in the city.
