Hotel Description
Okay, so Stan Stari Grad Budva – I’ll be honest, the name doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, but don’t let that fool you. This little 3-star gem sits right in Budva’s old town, and when I say right in it, I mean you’re literally surrounded by those medieval stone walls that everyone comes to see. You know how most hotels claim to be “in the heart” of somewhere? Well, this one actually delivers on that promise.
The thing about staying here is that you’re basically living like a local for a few days. I mean, you’ll wake up to the sound of shopkeepers setting up their stalls – not exactly silence, but there’s something charming about it. The rooms are honestly nothing fancy, but they’re clean and surprisingly comfortable. What really got me was how the staff seemed to know every corner of Budva. The guy at reception (I think his name was Marko?) gave me directions to this tiny bakery that I never would’ve found otherwise, tucked away in some alley that doesn’t even have a proper sign. That’s the kind of local knowledge you just can’t get at those big chain places.
Here’s what I really appreciated – you can literally stumble out of bed and be exploring those narrow cobblestone streets in about thirty seconds. No need to figure out buses or taxis or any of that hassle. The Citadel is practically your backyard, and honestly, watching the sunset from those ancient walls becomes part of your daily routine. The beach is maybe a five-minute walk, which is perfect because you can easily pop back to your room to grab something or escape the midday heat. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare during summer (well, anywhere in old town is), but they actually help you figure out where to leave your car, which saved me a lot of stress. The 9.2 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s not about luxury amenities or fancy lobbies, it’s about being in exactly the right spot with people who genuinely care about making your stay work. Sure, you might hear some street noise if you’re a super light sleeper, but honestly? That’s just the sound of being in one of Montenegro’s most vibrant spots. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if you’re the type who wants to really experience a place rather than just pass through it.
Budva hotels provide guests with luxurious accommodations in Montenegro’s premier coastal destination, known for its crystal-clear waters and medieval architecture.

Incredible location for exploring Budva. Such a pretty part of the town to be based in and amazing to be near so many restaurants, beaches and historic sites. The host was fantastic and really helpful, even helping us organise transport.

Wow! Everything about this place is top notch! It's spacious, comfortable great wifi, small but very good kitchen, great AC and superior location. Communication was very good
What could be improved: Very minor point, add some ice trays. A laundry pod or two would be very helpful.Fulya from Turkey – 6 July 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: Parking was a problem and expensiveSean from United Kingdom – 19 June 2024 (9/10)
Good communication with owners before check in, and they met us outside the apartment to hand over keys and show us the ropes. Good kitchen and laundry facilities. Bed was comfy, although a tight fit, so not easy to walk around it. Flat was surprisingly quiet. Cash only, but ATM around the corner. Close to travel agency too. Enter old town by Shanghai restaurant to get to the apartment.
What could be improved: Perhaps a little dark, but given its location, unsurprising. No balcony, but a very short walk to lovely views.Ekaterina from Russia – 15 June 2024 (10/10)
Location is top! You live inside the fortress, in the heart of the old town in one of those narrow crooked streets that every tourist adores, and the beautiful beach is about 100 m from you. There are several other beaches around which are all different but all are beautiful. The flat itself is clean, cozy but spacious enough, has everything needful. The hosts are very nice and helpful, caring for your comfort.
