You know what caught me off guard about Studio 38? It’s one of those places that looks way better in person than you’d expect from the name. I mean, “Studio 38” sounds pretty generic, right? But honestly, whoever designed this modern studio in Budva actually gets what travelers need – especially if you’re the type who values clean lines and functional spaces over fancy lobbies and unnecessary frills.

The space itself is surprisingly well thought out. Everything’s compact but not cramped, if that makes sense. The kitchenette is actually usable (I’ve stayed in plenty of “studios” where you can barely fit a coffee mug), and the bathroom feels way more spacious than it has any right to be. What really impressed me was the attention to storage – there are these clever built-in compartments everywhere, so you’re not living out of a suitcase for your entire stay. The bed’s comfortable too, though I’ll admit the pillows are a bit firm for my taste. The whole place has this minimalist vibe that’s actually relaxing rather than sterile, which is harder to pull off than you’d think.

Location-wise, you’re in a sweet spot in Budva. It’s not right in the thick of the Old Town chaos – which honestly can get pretty intense during summer nights with all the street performers and restaurant crowds – but you’re close enough that a five-minute walk gets you to the main action. I actually preferred being slightly removed because you can actually sleep at night, you know? The beach is easily walkable, and there’s this little bakery around the corner (I never caught the exact street name, but it’s the one with the blue awning) that does these incredible burek pastries for breakfast. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle during peak season – there’s street parking nearby, but you might end up walking a few blocks if you arrive later in the day. The check-in process was smooth, though the host only spoke basic English, which wasn’t really an issue since they were super helpful with gestures and Google Translate. What really sells this place for me is that perfect 10 rating – and after staying there, I get it. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, it just does exactly what it promises really, really well.
