You’re maybe a 10-minute walk to Slovenska Beach, which gets busy but never feels completely overrun like some of the other spots along the coast. And here’s something the booking sites don’t tell you – there’s this fantastic little bakery about three blocks down that opens at 6 AM and makes these incredible burek pastries. The apartment’s kitchen means you can grab fresh bread and actually enjoy breakfast without paying hotel restaurant prices.

Parking was surprisingly painless too, which anyone who’s driven around the Balkans in summer will appreciate. There’s street parking right outside, and while it fills up during peak season, I never had to circle around for more than five minutes to find a spot. The neighborhood itself has this lived-in feel – you’ll see locals heading to work, kids playing in the small park nearby, that sort of authentic slice of life you miss when you’re stuck in the tourist bubble. Sure, the building exterior isn’t going to win any architecture awards, but inside everything’s clean and well-maintained, with decent Wi-Fi and surprisingly good water pressure in the shower.
