Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first pulled up to Studios Kalina, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones that surprise you completely. The moment I walked into the lobby, there was this immediate sense that someone actually cares about this place. It’s not flashy or trying too hard, just… comfortable in its own skin, if that makes sense. The staff at check-in knew their stuff too – they had recommendations ready before I even asked, which always tells me they’re dealing with real travelers, not just processing bodies through the door.

What really got me was how they’ve designed these studios. I mean, they’re called studios for a reason, and whoever planned the layout actually understands how people live when they’re away from home for more than a night or two. The kitchenette isn’t one of those sad mini-fridge situations – it’s actually functional, with enough counter space that you can prep a proper meal if you want to save some money or just can’t face another restaurant dinner. The bed sits just right (not too soft, not like sleeping on concrete), and honestly, the blackout curtains are a godsend if you’re trying to shake off jet lag or sleep in on vacation. There’s this attention to the small stuff that you don’t always get – decent water pressure in the shower, outlets where you actually need them, enough closet space that you’re not living out of a suitcase the whole time.

Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place, though – it feels like a neighborhood spot rather than a tourist trap. You’ll hear locals chatting in the morning, there’s usually street parking if you’re driving (which, let’s be real, is not a given everywhere), and the area has that lived-in quality where you can grab groceries or coffee without it costing your firstborn. The 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here because it delivers exactly what it promises, no more, no less. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it nails the fundamentals so well that you end up recommending it to friends. I’ve stayed in plenty of places with more stars that left me way less satisfied, you know? Sometimes what you want is just a clean, well-run place where you can actually relax and feel at home for a few days.

  We enjoyed our stay here, our host was very helpful. View is great!
  
  What could be improved: Even though it is close to the centre, it is impossible to walk here as the slopes are too steep. Great view comes with a price 🙂
  but taxi to/from budva center is around 3-5 Euro which is affordable .

  We chose the property for the amazing view and it was beautiful…..morning and night
  Yes the hill is big (mountain) it has to be for the view
  We managed to walk it a few times (not with shopping ) taxi numbers from Jelena were good but often busy at 5/6 when we wanted to be back hence we walked, easier if the sun was behind the hill !
  We are fit and good walkers
  The room was well equipped and comfortable the balcony was a good size the building had a lovely aroma
  Nice quiet setting cold refreshments available especially after the walk 🥵 it was August

  What could be improved: Although the view is amazing, the road there is not that great… it is a really really inclined slope, really hardto get back to the property on foot, so you are dependent on the car most if the time

  Very nice owners, there is a possibility of transfer from the airport to the apartment for people without a car. The apartment is located on a hill (which can be seen in the photos of the beautiful view), but it is easy to walk for a person of average fitness (if necessary, you can take a taxi). The apartment has air conditioning and wifi. Really worth recommending.

  My friend and I stayed here for a couple of nights and booked the room with a balcony view. Highly recommend if you’re going to stay here. The view is beyond spectacular and so peaceful away from the busyness in the main area of budva. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly and allowed us to leave our bags when we arrived early and after checkout. We also used their facilities on the last day to wash after the beach before our flight. They couldn’t have been more accommodating. The room had what we needed and the air con worked well which was needed in the heat of summer. We had a very comfortable stay.
  
  What could be improved: The only downside to the property is that it is up a very very steep hill. We had no problem walking down but a taxi was needed to get back up in the heat (3-5 euros) so bare this in mind if staying here. It took about 15mins to walk down to the old town. The hosts are very helpful to give taxi numbers as taxis on the street are much more expensive.

  Large rooms with good facilities and a balcony with an incredible view of Budva bay, old town and Hawaii island. Hosts offered transport to airport and to Kotor, studios is run by a friendly couple who are always on hand to help with anything you need.
  
  What could be improved: Property is at the top of a steep hill, so just something to bear in mind for any one using a wheelchair or who has mobility issues

  This property had a wonderful view and the hosts were very helpful. There was a kettle and a small kitchen area to prepare food. The balcony was very nice even for a side view
  
  What could be improved: The soundproofing of the room wasn’t that great, as you could hear everything that your neighbours did.

  The place has a spectacular view of Budva bay plus we get to see fireworks on our last night. The studio was clean & comfortable. The host, Jelena was so nice and helpful. Taxi was also reliable. It’s very close to Vista restaurant which is really good too and has an amazing view of Budva & old town.
  
  What could be improved: it’s not accessible by walk. you need taxi or car to get through steep the hill especially under the scorching hot summer sun.
