When I first pulled up to Studios Merdović, I’ll be honest — it’s not the kind of place that screams extravagance from the outside. This three-star property sits quietly in Lastva Grbaljska, just outside Budva, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work. You get the feeling you’ve stumbled onto something locals know about but tourists haven’t quite discovered yet. The building has that Mediterranean simplicity that grows on you, and there’s free parking right on site, which — trust me — is worth its weight in gold around here.

My room was actually more spacious than I expected, with a little kitchenette that came in handy for morning coffee and late-night snacks. The setup is pretty straightforward — clean, functional, with everything you actually need rather than stuff you don’t. What struck me most was how quiet it gets at night; you’re far enough from Budva’s party scene to sleep peacefully, but close enough that a quick drive gets you into the action. The air conditioning works well (crucial in summer), and the Wi-Fi is solid throughout the property.

Location Magic

Here’s where Studios Merdović really shines — the location is genuinely brilliant. You’re positioned between the mountains and the sea, with Jaz Beach literally a stone’s throw away. I mean, you can walk to one of Montenegro’s most beautiful beaches in under five minutes. But what I loved most was having easy access to both worlds: beach days when you want them, mountain hikes when you need a change of pace. The coastal road connects you to Budva in about ten minutes by car, but you avoid all the crowds and noise when you come back to your base.

Local Insights

The family running the place actually knows the area inside and out, and they’re happy to share recommendations that go beyond the typical tourist spots. They pointed me toward a local restaurant down the road that serves incredible seafood — the kind of place where fishermen eat, not just tourists with guidebooks. The surrounding area has this authentic Montenegrin feel that’s getting harder to find along the coast. You’ll see locals walking their dogs in the evening, kids playing in small courtyards, and elderly folks chatting on benches — it’s real life, not a resort bubble.

What keeps people coming back here isn’t fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy lobbies — it’s the combination of practicality and location that just works.   The property is clean with a great pool in a quiet area. Staff are lovely and very attentive. Comfortable sun beds and rooms are well equipped with fridge and kettle and plenty of towels.
  
  What could be improved: The property is a bit far from anything. Having to rely on taxis if you don’t have a car. Bed was super solid and hard to relax on as pillows weren’t great either.

  We loved this place so much that we ended up staying more. Having a pool is great for when you don't have time or don't feel like travelling to the sea. The hypermarket is close by (but you will need a car to get around). It is close to Jazz Beach (again, by car). The location is very quiet and there's parking on site.
  
  They clean the room everyday and the host was just awesome – they helped with any question we had. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Budva.

  Great place!!
  Nice pool, very helpful staff, beautiful location.
  We had everything we needed. Our clothes were washed, the room was cleaned regularly.
  Also, there is an amazing beach (Jaz) only 25 min by foot from the appartement.

  Located far away from Budva but there are buses (bus stop is just next to the property).
