You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Sunny Grapes Apartments when I first pulled up – honestly, the name had me wondering if I was checking into some kind of wine-themed budget spot. But here’s the thing about three-star places that actually get it right: they focus on the basics and do them well, which is exactly what happened here.

The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious, and I mean actually spacious, not that “European cozy” thing where you can touch both walls from the bed. Mine had this little kitchenette that was perfectly functional – nothing fancy, but the fridge was cold and the stovetop worked, which is more than I can say for some pricier places I’ve stayed. The whole setup feels more like borrowing a friend’s apartment than staying in a hotel, if that makes sense. There’s this lived-in comfort to the furnishings, though I’ll be honest, the couch has definitely seen better days. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout my stay, which matters when you’re trying to figure out dinner plans or catch up on work.

What really sold me on the place was how quiet it gets at night – and this is coming from someone who’s a pretty light sleeper. You get the occasional sound from the hallway, but nothing like those thin-walled places where you hear every conversation and suitcase wheel. The staff at check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that overly scripted hospitality stuff. They gave me the rundown of the neighborhood (apparently there’s a fantastic bakery about two blocks down that opens at 6 AM – totally worth the early walk) and mentioned which local restaurants actually deliver to the building. Small touches like that make a difference when you’re somewhere new. I did notice the elevators can be a bit slow during what I assume are the busy times, but honestly, it wasn’t a big deal unless you’re in a real rush. The 7.4 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but it delivers exactly what you’d want from a solid, no-nonsense place to stay.

Hotel in Budva booking should be done early, especially during summer season when the city hosts internationally popular music festivals and beach parties.

  What could be improved: It is very small. Difficult to find parking. it was not fully equipped, it had very little shampoo, it had no iron. it had a very small fridge, there is no space at all to sit down except for one bed.

  Property has great air-conditioning and is in a great location close to the beach, bus station and shop.
  
  What could be improved: The listing is deceptive as the room we stayed in was tucked in the back of the 50 photos. A kitchen is listed however we simply had a fridge a kettle and some utensils. However, the main issue was the payment. I was asked to pay before arrival via an IBAN payment, which i did. However, on arrival we were told we still had to pay despite us assuring them we had. They then looked for 20-30mins leaving us feeling uncomfortable until they eventually found it. However, upon writing this I have had my card try to be charged by the hosts. Luckily it has no money in it bus this is so deceptive and indicative of a scam!! Watch out!

  The location was ok, close to a store and to the bus station. Walking distance to the beach and old town.
  
  What could be improved: The AC didn’t work, it was loud and it didn’t get cold in the room. We did not get sheets/blankets for all of us. The Wi-Fi connection was low and slow, barely working at all.
