You know what struck me first about Sunrise Budva? It’s one of those places where the name actually makes sense – I mean, you really do get these incredible sunrise views that honestly make waking up early worth it for once. But staying at Sunrise kind of insulates you from all that chaos while keeping you close enough to dive into it when you want to. The staff here actually know what they’re doing (which sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how rare that is), and check-in was refreshingly smooth. No standing around for twenty minutes while they figure out their system. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star – clean, comfortable, with that particular Balkan attention to detail that I’ve grown to appreciate. The air conditioning actually works properly, which matters more than you think when you’re dealing with those humid Mediterranean summers.

What really sets this place apart though is how it feels like they understand travelers rather than just tourists, if that makes sense. The breakfast setup isn’t some overwhelming buffet where half the food sits there getting cold – it’s thoughtfully curated, and they do this local cheese selection that’s honestly better than what you’ll find at most restaurants in town. Plus, you can grab coffee and pastries pretty much any time, which saved me more than once when I was rushing out to catch an early bus to Kotor. The pool area gets busy around midday (everyone has the same idea about beating the heat), but if you’re there by 8 AM or after 4 PM, it’s this peaceful spot where you can actually hear yourself think. Parking was straightforward too – none of that driving in circles hoping to find a spot situation you get with some hotels in the old town area. The location means you’re walking distance to the good stuff without being right in the middle of the late-night party zone, so you can actually sleep when you want to. That 9.9 rating isn’t just inflated review scores – this place genuinely delivers on making your stay feel effortless in a way that lets you focus on enjoying Budva instead of dealing with hotel drama.
