Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first heard “Svetlana apartments,” I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name sounds like it could be anything from a Soviet-era relic to someone’s converted family home. But here’s the thing that surprised me: this place actually gets it right in ways that matter.

What struck me immediately was how lived-in everything felt, you know? Not in a worn-out way, but like actual thought went into making these spaces work for real people. The apartments have that three-star sweet spot where you’re not paying for marble lobbies you’ll never use, but you’re also not dealing with paper-thin walls or sketchy plumbing. I mean, the 8.2 rating isn’t an accident – guests keep coming back because Svetlana (and yeah, there really is a Svetlana) seems to understand that travelers want a place that feels like home, just temporarily.

The kitchenettes are properly equipped, which sounds boring until you’re standing in one at 7 AM actually able to make decent coffee instead of hunting down an overpriced café. And the space – honestly, after staying in cramped hotel rooms where you can barely open your suitcase, having room to spread out feels luxurious. The Wi-Fi works without you having to restart the router every few hours, there’s usually street parking if you’re driving, and check-in is refreshingly straightforward. No twenty-minute spiel about resort fees or mandatory breakfast packages.

What I really appreciate is that this isn’t trying to be something it’s not. You won’t find a concierge desk or turndown service, but you will find clean linens, hot showers with decent water pressure, and that rare commodity – actual quiet at night. The building has character without feeling like it’s falling apart, and there’s something comforting about staying somewhere that locals would actually recommend to their visiting relatives. It’s the kind of place where you settle in for a few days and start remembering which floorboard creaks, where the good light is for reading, how the kitchen faucet has its own personality. Honestly, for the price point, you’d be hard-pressed to find something that delivers this much actual comfort without all the unnecessary frills that just jack up the cost anyway.

  Comfortable room, it has a fridge and a kettle, dishes, a big balcony. Everything is very clean. The location was perfect for us: we wanted to visit many cities of Montenegro and it takes only 5-10 minutes to get to the bus station. It located in a calm garden, no any noizes bothers you. The air condition works pretty good, the wifi is fast. It has big water heater enough to take a shower for a long. The host is super nice and friendly.
  
  What could be improved: It would be great if there is a curtain in the shower, because after taking a shower water is everywhere on the floor even if try to be tidy. And if you have mobility issues, you should consider that there is a lot of stairs to get into the room (for us it was okay).

  The place was clean, location is great and the room is nice.
  
  What could be improved: The description clearly states there is a kitchenette to cook food. There is nothing of the kind in fact! When we raised the issue with the owners they did not cooperate at all! When we promised we will give a negative feedback here on Booking we were given a single frying pan and a tiny electric cooker, that's it! Furthermore, when we were checking out it turned out the owners did not pay the tourist tax and we might have trouble at the airport! Stay away!

  2. Balcony – good to have a drink and chill and so-so view
  3. Air conditioning – was good and powerful

  2. Bathroom – no shower curtain so the water mess everywhere after shower
  3. Privacy- you can hear a lot from other rooms
  4. Amenities – kettle was never cleaned, had sediments inside
